Taste - light dark malts..bit of dark fruits...tiny dab of Vimto...slightly spicy..bit of weak black tea.. very subdued...bit boring

Cask, Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, Oadby. Dark brown with a thin head. Aromas are earthy molasses with chocolate, berries and hints of soy. Some meaty smokiness with raisins. Flavours are sweet raisins with weetabix and some chocolate. Short on the finish. A decent mild.

wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 23, 2012
[Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading] Brown with a thick off-white head. There’s a hint of choclate, a little woodiness and some faint roast malts, but it’s predominantly thin, watery and tatseless. One can imagine that this is the sort of mild that became famous as the post-work restorative that miners used to fill up on - you could drink many pints of this very fast without it touching the sides!

Leighton (6945) - London, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2012
Cask at Penderel’s Oak, JDW, London. Pours clear brown with a creamy, light tan head. Nut much in the way of aroma, perhaps some faint fruit and nuts. Faintly sweet flavor, some semi-dark fruits, light rubber. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweet finish, faint fruits. Very bland. Not impressed; this is pretty weak.

berkshirejohn (3643) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 19, 2012
Cask at the Prince Arthur (JDW), Fleet. Deep ruby with a ring of cream head; musty aroma with some purple fruit; soft and watery in the mouth with some sweet fruit turning slightly sour; and a dry cardboard finish. Looked good, but it went downhill from there.

That Spoons near the Skydome, Coventry, 16/03/12. Burgundy with a fine nicotine cap. Washy, barely distinguishable black cherry aroma; some sap. Weak red fruits taste; a little grassy hop, second hand digestives. Mild beyond blandness.
