Cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 4 on 5 August 2011. A run of the mill golden ale. Clean enough. Dry and drinkable. Didn’t really grab my attention. Could use more hops. Malts are dry and biscuity. Nothing to particularly dislike here but low on impact. This sort of beer needs more zing than this one delivered.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2011, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.

Unclear medium orange colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, caramel, fruity, light hoppy, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, fruity - caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110803]

Cask at The Druid, Maidstone. Pours a clear golden-copper with a spare off-white head. Aroma has a hint of sourness, not sure if that’s deliberate along with floral Goldings hops, sweet malt, fruit and grain. Flavour, which is watery, of those Goldings hops first followed by a touch of sourness, sweet biscuity malt and some apples. Average bodied. Just O.K.

Cask (GBBF2011, Wed)
Slight eggy aroma. Light graint body. Dull, but OK, hops in teh finish, perhaps a bit papery. One of the more ’meh’ beers of the day.

Cask @ GBBF, 2011. Pours cloudy yellow with a off white head. Fruit, hay, butter - diacetyl and some floral hoppy notes. Medium bodied.

Cask@GBBF2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, sweet malts, some mild earth and wood as well. Flavour is fruits, wood, earth, mild caramel malts along with some earthy and bready notes.

Cask @ The State. Nose is light malted, citric, a bit flowery. Clear golden colour, off-white head. Flavour is light malty, citric, flowery, followed by dry biscuit. Slgihtly bitter and fruity finish.
