Commercial Description:
The perfect blend of malt, hops, and the subtle tartness from real cranberries make this light, refreshing, and effervescent pint a real Cape Cod crowd pleaser.

Okay, I guess I am having some guilty nostalgia over this one. Sure it tastes like a wine cooler, but I grew up on a cranberry bog. Other than my longing for home, this beer shows nothing.

I would be surprised if I drank this blind and then someone told me it was beer. This is a mockery of fruit beer. It’s all sweet cranberry flavoring. I can understand that the brewery needs to make a beer that will sell, so I can’t really fault them too much for making it, but unfortunately, I gotta be honest on my ratings, this dosent taste like beer.

Sample at the Brewpub: Light pink color with no head. This smells very much of cranberry and has a sweetness to it like soda. Surprisingly, the carbonation is light, which is the only good part about this beer. Flavor has nothing but tart cranberry and a sugar-like sweetness. If you gave me a blind taste of this, I couldn’t even tell you it was beer. Basically tastes like drinking carbonated cranberry juice with some small amount of alcohol. I would guess this is aimed at competing with the malt beverage market, which it would do quite well for the brewery.

5oz sample at the brewpub. Pour is clear pink, no head, very minimal body carbonation. Aroma is pure cranberry, tart, and a little sweet, too. Flavor is all about the cranberry - tart and fruity. Body is medium, somewhat syrupy feeling. Not overly impressed with this, although my wife liked it a bit more than I.
