2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
This is one of the better brews commonly available in the 40 oz. bottle. There is a slight off flavor common to the ’Plank Road’ beers, but overall it is smooth with adequate body and balance. Not too gassy with plenty of alcohol for the style.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pale yellow. Large head. Aroma is very beery. Taste is Beery and harsh but not offensive. Corn and moldy malt are predominant. Plus for no watery taste.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bland taste, stronger alcohol content compared to other American beer. Aroma was lacking as well

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells lightly of malt and hops (slightly floral perfume) with a bit of a sour edge. Almost smells like a Pilsner. As it warms up, that slight sour edge becomes more apple cidery. Flavor is similar to the nose, but the hops are less pronounced and there is a sweetness that carries through the whole way. Sweet malt up front, flash of hop flavor then fades quickly from malty to sugary, the hops go metallic, then the flavor muddles and becomes watery before the finish. Finish is short except for the impression of sweetness that lingers a bit.
Overall, this brew has a good balance between clean/crispness and actually having some flavor. It’s got more flavor than most beers in the category without being too fruity or sweet. The carbonation is on the low end of moderate and just about right, in my opinion.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Deep gold, clear, white head. Aroma of Grainy-sweet, corn like malt, very light sulphur. Flavor: a stale maltiness with a little residual sweetness, a chalky note, a little fuller body than most American light lagers.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Poured into a pils glass from a 24 oz. can.
2.0 A: Clear light yellow color. Mega-carbonated as the first pour gave me about 40% head. Fortunately retention is poor. Pillowy white head.
1.0 S: This is the closest to smelling like nothing that I’ve ever experienced in a beer. Smells like water I guess.
1.5 T: Just the slighest bit of neutral maltiness. Underwhelming even for the style.
1.0 M: Despite the giant head, there isn’t a lot of carbonation in this. I guess the carbonation was just trying to get as far away from this beer as possible. Water body. No creaminess.
1.0 D: I don’t know how they got this up to 5.5% without having any flavor in this. Amazing.

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Light aroma; mostly green apple. More of the green apple in flavor, with sweet flavor, getting even more sugary sweet in aftertaste. With really no other malt flavors and not much bitterness, the sweetness gets more fatiguing the more I drink.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pour from a 24 oz can. Pale yellow brew, darker than many light brews, with a fizzy white head that passes. Faint aroma of spoiled grain. Taste is bland - not much of anything here. A little sweet at the start, a little dry at the end, then again with a little sweet and finally a lingering vegetal aftertaste. All most muted. Plain, banal, not bad but not good either.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Darker than the typical pale lager but with maybe even a little more trashy, metallic & wet grain taste & aroma. Even when I was underage and into cheap beer I remember this being pretty bad.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Poured with love into my Trappist glass. Aroma of wet cardboard, overly sweet malts, hand candy... I’d believe you if you told me this was malt liquor; maybe a hint of grass. Appearance is gold with slightly sticky yellow head. Flavor is sweet and fruity up front with a slightly grassy, abrupt finish. Palate is light, creamy and soft. Drinkable.
