Yet another ice ale that is out there on the cheap side of the beer isle for the party people looking for quantity over quality. Better out of bottles than cans due to the aluminum taste but other than that it is pretty much cheap brew with a little extra kick than most beers.

So bad it’s good, provides a good cheap buzz... best "enjoyed" (AKA, chugged) chilled... really chilled, not any worse than a "Stella Artois," the pretentious, lower alcohol content, overpriced Euro-macro. Cheers!

Horrid. Probably best used as a laxitive. Many a minor in possession of this has cleaned his system out the next morning. The rating before mine is great though!

After seemingly endless hours of trudging through the deep snowy landscape of the grim Northern forest, you can make out a figure in the frostbitten darkness. It’s some kind of house... a derelict house that emits an eerie aura of icy, unforgiving doom. An "icehouse" perhaps. You enter the house, and light your lampwick. You freeze in shock as the dim light reveals a forgotten stockpile of 24oz cans of Icehouse beer. Thirsty from your journey, you crack open can after can of Icehouse, dumping them down your throat with reckless abandon. Your world becomes a whirlwind of malted corn cobs, dampened rotting drywall, and lucious malty alcoholic bliss. After four cans, you are drunk beyond all hope. Suddenly, the cellar door bursts open and a creature emerges from the dark abyss. It is part snow yeti, and part suburban frat boy. In a blur of swinging claws, spraying blood, and flying bone chunks, the Yeti brutalizes your face, leaving you in a barely recognizable pulp. You should never have entered the icehouse.

THOUGHTS: I used to love this beer before I was of legal drinking age, because it had a little more kick and flavor than the other macros. Then I would still buy it from time to time after turning 21. But then it became more scarce in the Delaware Valley. I picked this up on a recent trip to Virginia. Not as good as I remembered it, still better than a lot of pale lagers. I think with the bottles you don’t get that bad aftertaste that others mentioned. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light yellow with fair carbonation and a small to average fizzy, white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was light grain and moderate grassy hops. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and bitter and slightly sour with a short duration. There was some grain malt then some grassy hops and a little sourness like sourdough. The sour kicked in as it warmed. Tip. Don’t let it get too warm. The light body was watery with soft then fizzy carbonation and a light to moderate astringent finish.

Dark Yellow. A few faint hints of some fruit and then just puree bitterness. I guess this is ok if you only have a few bucks and want to get shmamerred.
