Magic_dave6 (4000), London, Greater London, England May 1, 2008 Cask at paisley beer fest. Alround rating: Caramel toffee aroma with grassy bittering hops. A bit on the sweetside. cgarvieuk (2525), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 21, 2007 Bottle at home ... very little hop in nose ... orangy hop ... light touch of lageryness ... touch medicinal ... some light fruit ... little tart ... quite clean and crisp ... a good palate clenser with a curry ... but other wise a touch bland if perfectly drinkable. RichardGretton (2678), Leicestershire, England Mar 5, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with a very light head. The aroma is very light and the flavour is weak and watery dry. Overall a very lightly bitter watery beer. SilkTork (3909), Rochester, Kent, England May 15, 2002 Started in 1995 by Brendon Moore with no previous experience, but some redundancy money to experiment with, Iceni has developed into a microbrewery with a reputation for bottle conditioned ales of character. I recently picked up a few bottles from The Bitter End in Bromley, and this light summer ale is the first I’ve tried. The aroma is grassy with a hint of pee and vinegar. Full of citrus the taste edges toward a cider, but is held back by the bitter hop balance. Overall a refreshing drink with lots of interest, but this modern style beer is perhaps more suited to those with a taste for lager.
Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Jul 5, 2004 Hand pulled at the Anchor, Birmingham. Golden, with scum top. Very odd, sweaty mouthfeel - like melted ice cubes. Quite fruity - raspberry and peach, but lacking in bite or dryness. OK.
