StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Mar 14, 2006 A dark, treacle red-black beer, with a weak white head. The nose is of toasted malt and coffee, there is also a hint of sweet caramel toffee! The taste is an interesting combination of toasted coffee and malt bitterness and a sweet, caramel honeyness, there is also a slight hint of citrus fruit. The finish is dry, yet smooth. (Bottle - Purchased from the Brewery’s stall @ King’s Lynn’s Farmers Market). Jet black, thin short lasting beige head, low conditioned. Almost totally lacking in aroma save for a low roastiness. Thin in the mouth, vaguely yeasty, some chocolate but a plastic edge dominates. Slightly sweet, fruity and homebrewy in the finish.
