11.2 oz. bottle from Wilburís. Appearance: finger white head, does not last, ruddy color, clear, light lacing. Aroma: cherry, balsamic vinegar, Palate: medium body, average carbonation, dry finish, slightly chalky texuture. Taste: sweet cherry and light caramel with slight tartness, into a more caramel sweetness and cough syrupy cherry finish. Overall, too sweet, not very tart, and the palate is not amazing. Not my favorite for the style.

Sample @ BBF 15. Pours a clear deep amber beer with a big off white head on top. Aroma is yeasty, red fruits, bready. Flavor has a tarty note to it, again fruity touches and the yeast faded a bit to the background. There is this aftertaste full of apples in there as well. Pretty decent.

Draft to taster at Ei8ht Ball. Pours a clear garnet brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have cherry and berry notes, lightly tart, pie crust, some off strange notes that are hard to describe, with all the other beers around this just didnít stand up, weak finish.

330ml bottle. Rich ruby in colour, thin beige head, light lacing. Aroma is sweet, white sugar, light cherries, some pie crust. Flavour is lightly sour, more sweet, some cherries, light spice. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet first turning a bit sour, some tartness. Seems old even though its still in date.

bottle @ Sergioís / Louisville KY --- Clear amber brown, thin ivory head cover, streaks of lace. Taste is caramel malt that adds wood on the swallow with carbonation balancing things in the finish. Full-bodied, but all elements arenít exactly in harmony with each other.

Pours a slight plum / blood red, no head at all very hazy. Nose is akin to cherry pie w/ old meat. Nice mouthfeel and carbonation front is on point. Tartness is reserved and fully of flavor but unfortunately the flavor isnít very exciting. lots of off flavors.

Bottle 33cl. Clear deep redbrown color, one finger foamy light tan head that quickly dissipates, fair lacing; aroma sour, cherries, vinegar, woody; taste mild, moderate sour and sweet, sour cherries, black currant, bit wood; medium texture, sticky texture, soft carbonation; lingering sour and light sweet finish, woody notes. Mild well-balanced no-nonsense oud bruin.

Too sweet for the style if you ask me. Only slightly sour with a little funk and some cherry cough syrup. I donít know why they call this a grand cru, or what distinguishes it from their other oude bruin, but I was not impressed.
