3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours out a dark brown. As soon as it hit the glass I could smell the sourness. The aroma is sour with a hint of vinegar. The taste has the bite from the sour, but it is a nice refreshing beer. Flemish reds are one of my favorite styles and I really enjoyed this one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours great with a nice deep reddish, brown color, a decent white head and some lacing on the glass. The beer smells great with a nice bitter dark fruit, plum or rasins, smell to it. The taste is decent with a nice bitter fruit flavor to it, dark plum, tartness and a great flemish finish. The mouthfeel is somewhat bitter from the beer and decently carbonated. Overall, I liked this beer but not my favorite of the style.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
11.2oz bottle pours deep black/brown into tulip with tiny head. Nose is dank, sour cranberries, acetic notes, earthy. Mouthfeel is very bubbly, but thin and a bit watery. Taste is tart acidic cranberry, typical vinegar notes, red meat, red pepper jelly. Finish is sweet and sour dark fruits, some subtle oak, ends with a touch of watery red vinegar and berry. Fair example of the style but seems pretty basic. OK.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Oblivion Taproom. This beer is simply tart and oaky. Overall it is not too complex, just dried fruit - strawberry mainly with some soft tannin and vanilla. Itís pretty easy on the palate for a sour as well... drink up!!!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Binnys South Loop (Chicago, IL). Pours a deep dark reddish brown hue, a good deep. A good darker middle presents some contrasts to the glow on the edges, though still darker is quite appealing. A frothy reddish brown head sits atop as a decent layer, sticks around small and laces small overall. Aromas show a good deal of dark fruit, decent sour nose is cherries, lactic twang and gentle vinegar presence. Some darker toasty and carmelized malts in the body, but as it settles as warms some bigger dark fruit, sourness and lemon element starts to come in. Some gentle oak, some gentle vinegar spritz. Initial is a distinct blend of sweeter fruit, dark fruit and cherries, mixing with some acidity. Some balsamic, vinegar, and lemons. Lactic and acidic elements mix. Middle presents a richer oak presence, wet wood and some vanillin, a bit tannic and more vinegar and lactic acidity press on. A bit more of a firm body, dark fruit and cherries, pit fruit and touches of sourness keep pressing. Backend still has a firmer body, some nice sourness, some red wine tannins and lactic elements, wet wood. A bit more dry as we come out of that firmer body, with lingering lactic twang, oak and vinegar. This beer certainly was better than the blended Ichtegemís for me. That said, I can still find some better stuff for my money. Not bad.
