The aroma is sweet and sour with vinegar, fruit, and oak. The appearance is amber with a large head and floating particles. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. The finish is sour. Overall it’s sweeter than most of the style but this is probably likable for many that like the style. I have had better.

On tap at the Pizza Port Belgian Beer Party. Pours a hazy burgundy with an off white head. Aroma is slightly sour with vinegar, malt, and a bit of wood. Flavor is Too sweet for my liking and not sour enough. Very fruity and sweet Maybe it was because of all the other fantastic beer that day, but this just seemed bland.

Tap @ Brick Store. Poured a clear orange with a really mousse like head. Woodsy aroma, with a lot of sourness. Winelike flavor, fruity, sweet, and sour finish.

Draught poured burgundy body with a thin tan head that quickly dissipated. Aroma was sour, slightly vinegar, raisin, licorice, heavily malty, and woody. The initial sourness was not the dominant trait in the flavor however and the vinegar was barely noticeable as a distinct flavor but enhanced the malt in juxtaposition. Rather it was fruitier, subtler darker malts playing around the front of the tongue, old hops on the back, dark fruits and licorice mostly, some alcohol. Like wine but definitely better.

Bottle. Deep rusty brown color, billowing tan head with moderate retention. Aroma is apple cider vinegar. Taste is sweet malt, soft but pronounced sourness, bitter hop finish. The malt and sourness blend together extremely well, but the finish kills the wonderfulness that preceeded it. A wonderful beer to savor in your mouth.

Bottle, 75 cl - Burgundy colored beer with a large frothy reddish brownish head. The aroma is sweet and fresh with sourish notes of berries and wood. Malty flavor is also sweet with acidic notes of red berries, apple cider and some strawberry. Good sour ale, 2006 version better than 2005.

Bottle. Mostly brown pour with a white head. Aroma is a bit fruity with some green grapes, cherries and some light raisin notes. Flavor is a bit tart with a hint of sweentess to go along wtih some wood and Beershine hit it...some plain yogurt on the tongue.
