The aroma of this beer is the most intriguiing portion. It smells like a wine... taste like a wine crossed with beer. The problem with it overall is the lack of thick flavor, it almost seems watered down. Sour is light, with a dark fruit type flavor as mentioned below.

Reddish-brown. Light head. Barrely aroma with dark fruits (grape, plum) and a light chocolate note. Sweet & sour palate. Very woody, with a light plum fruitiness. Decent, wood-accented example.

Pours a deep reddish brown with a dense lightbrown long lasting head with excellent lacing. Sweet malty aroma with some green fruits and cherries. Flavor is also sweet and malty but well supported by a dry slightly sour and tart finish. An elegant beer.

Bottle. Cloudy red-brown cherrywood color with scant tan head that disappears fast. Sweet-sour aroma with a little lactic acid. Hint of pedio. Damp wood. Not very fruity, surprisingly. No cherry. More like an old wet wood smell with organisms. Interesting and on the yogurty side. A wee bit of Play Doh in here too. Low soft carbonation. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky at times wiht a slight metallic taste in the finish but not bad. Easy, accessible, and not sour, but sweet, like dried cranberries, candied walnuts, and a balsamic kiss. Really nice.

Bottle beautyfull red brown color, sour flavors in the nose along with some chocolate. In the mouth it is just outstanding, lactic tart, creamy chocolate, a nice wood impression in the back, lots of sour cheeries, and a bunch of delicous red wine in total harmonie with each other. Finish is slighlty tart and so wunderbar cream chocolaty and a litle chalky. Freaking good!

Served into Duvel tulip. Pour is nasty dirty stagnant pond water brown with minimal tan head. Sour vinegar, sweet malts, alcohol, and slight cherry to the nose. Flavor is light with oak, sour cherry, and very tart. Straight up sour right here. Seems like it is lacking something though, it is somewhat watery. Overall a nice brew.

Super-dark, brown with red tints if you hold it up to the light. It smells pretty good, like sour vinegar and then sweet. The taste is slightly sour, very easy to drink. This is not nearly as intense as some of the other flemish red’s like La folie or La Roja. Thanks to RBlWthaCoz for this interesting brew. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-10-2008 02:04:43
