Aroma of sour cherries, wood and malts. Taste is of mild tart cherries, dark fruit and a hint of oak. The mouthfeel starts out prickly and sour, but finishes sweet and dry . This would be a great start if you want to try a sour ale. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 7, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a deep deep red so dark its almost black. Big tan head that hangs around for a long while. Gorgeous looking beer. Nose is tart sour cherries, a little balsamic but not alot. Some strong oak notes. Taste is lightly tart cherry. Very little sourness at all. This seems very young. Strong yeast notes, and some alcohol warmth. Not really representative of the style but as a belgian ale its quite good. Very strong woody oak notes in the finish with a great touch of caramel. This needs more acidity and more sourness but its still an excellent beer. A Sour though? Not so much. smith4498 (874), Miami, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Sweet tart cherry aroma, reminds me of duchess. Dark auburn, small sandy head. Some tart character, sharply sour midpalate. Dry wood finish, everything is in stages. Naka (525), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Pours a dark brown with some slight reddish hues. Small foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is sweet raspberry with some brown sugar cookie. Has a decent sour fruity character, but lacks the depth of beers like Rodenbach’s Grand Cru. Does not have the malty backbone. Finishes very dry. A decent body with a tight carbonation. larsniclas (3382), Gothenburg, Sweden

Dark copper with a medium, tan head.
Sweet and sour in both aroma and flavour; vinegar and some sugar.
Light oak-notes in the flavour too and also notes of apple-cider. Rciesla (3600), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark mahogany brune in the glass with a thin off white lacing. Aromatic character of lightly tart cherries, light barnyard blanket, a slight wood aged character. Thin spicy yeast but a strange lingering fruitness that wouldnt normally be ever so present in a sour ale. No etoh in the finish. Eh. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Nutmeg apple, and vinegar on the nose. Fruits and yeast up front slightly acid finish combined with notable hints of oak. I agree with beerbill this would an excellent "gateway" sour beer
