Good balance of sweet and tart.

Aroma: light apple aroma.
Appearance: huge, fizzy, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and mostly lasting longevity. Dark red/brown body.
Taste: moderately sour apple initial flavor and moderately sour, leathery finish with average duration.
Palate: light bodied with dry texture, fizzy carbonation and metallic finish feel.
Overall: excellent. Complex flavor. Thirst-quenching. I’d happily drink this again.

Cap states best by 4/5/2015.
A - Pours a garnet hued brown with a thin eggshell head leaves behind some spotted lacing.
S - Acidic grapes, fresh wood, saw dust, cherries, raspberries, vanilla, all melded perfectly.
T - Raspberry red grape tartness, a good dose of oak wood, muted watermelon rind, finishes dry with light notes of balsamic vinegar on the aftertaste.
M - Light body, soft effervescent, powdery dry on the finish.
Great nose, good looking but the taste didn’t rise to the occasion. Still a very nice Flanders that I probably should have held onto another year before cracking open. I’ll go pick another one up.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BiddleBrau (776) - Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 4, 2013
On tap at Iron Abbey. Dark brown, clear nice off-white head. Faint sour nose, very mild. There is an off taste to this right away, beyond the sour/tartness. Slight medicinal but standard sour fights through. Palate is mostly clean but off taste is off-putting. Sadly this won?t rate where it probably should.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Palme (2311) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 16, 2013
0.33l bottle from Barley Wine @ Hotel Room in Copenhagen. This is a really deep dark brown with a little bit of red in it, and it has a heavy lacing good looking beige top. Lots of aromas here, really tart and vinous. Loads of sour red berries with wood and gooseberries. Not bad at all. It feel a bit thin on the mouthfeel this, was expecting something g else and the carbonation level is about average. It’s a sour Flemish ale alright, but far from the best I’ve had. Red sour berries, a sweetness underneath and the oak is really shining through. Slightly warming finish down the throat. Not a big favorite, but some good flavors. 04.05.2013

Poured from a bottle into fluted snifter. Appearance is a very dark reddish brown with an airy off white head, almost tan. Aroma is very tart with sweet cherries and faint oak finish. Taste is a lot of sugar/sweet up front that gets supported by the tartness. Mild bitterness on the middle of the tongue, high carbonation, and a relatively dry and quick finish.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Mörkt rubinröd med livligt högt skum. Markerad sötma, jäst och druvor i doft. Sötma går igen i smak där den möter citrusig syra. Sträv eftersmak.
