Pours with a clear, amber-brown body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet with a sour undertone and a touch of coconut. light to medium bodied and dry.

Dark red/copper. Aroma of cherry and oak. Off white head dissipated quickly leaving frothy lacing. Body is medium with a slippery slick mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Mature cherry flavor up front, slightly oxidized. Middle has a woody brown sugar flavor which leads to a slight tart and tanic finish with alc warmth. Overall mostly sweet, fruity, slightly sour/tart ale that would be difficult to drink two of.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours clear deep amber with a small head. Aroma is sweet, flowery and light perfumed. Taste is perfumed sweet, with a light dry finish, easy forgotten

Shared bottle at local tasting. Very dark red colour, off-white head. Nice and "typical Flemish red" aroma, notes of red wine vinegar and oak. Fairly smooth flavour, notes of red wine vinegar again (but not nearly as sour, of course), hints of sour fruits and oak.

750-ml bottle labeled Strubbe’s Grand Cru Flemish Red Ale, with a tag around the neck saying "50% young beer blended with 50% beer aged (for 2 years) in bordeaux wine barrels", from the-rare-beer-club @ beermonthclub. sweet more than sour, which is ok in my book. cherries, blackberries, strawberries. drinkable. cork flew 206.5 in.

750ml green corked and caked bottle, poured into a Rodenbach Grand Cru branded Tulip glass. Appearance is clear dark ruby red with a small fine creamy looking khaki head, that left some lacing. Aroma of overripe apples, red grapes, balsamic vinegar and barnyard . Flavour of ripe red apples, red grapes, cherries, oak wood notes, and a hint of balsamic vinegar. Taste is light-medium sweet, light bitter and medium-light sourness. Palate is medium bodied, soft texture and medium carbonation. Overall I think this beer is quite enjoyable but too sweet and light on sourness, also a little too carbonated for the style. Vineous flavours, a suitable gateway beer for a wine drinkers.

Bottle 33cl, a amber brown beer with low head. Nose is on candy sugar and burnt candy sugar. Aroma is on caramel, diacetyl and burnt caramel, slightly sour, low wood touch, very less fruity only some burnt over ripped cherries, bit disappointed.

Bottle shared by czar, thanks bro! Pours a dark red with a weak head that still manage to leave good lacing patterns. Nose is of red wine vinegar and grapes, interesting. First sip offers some "bottle" flavors but it clears up pretty quickly. It is sweeter than most Flanders Red but still has some tartness and offers some light acetic notes. Body was light to medium, carbonation medium and overall it didn’t have any rough corners. Enjoyable, just a bit too sweet unfortunately.

This was the first time I had a sour ale. The color was dark/red. The flavor and consistency was great. High recommend if you like sour ales.
