Purchased at Binny’s, May 2010. Everyone’s hosting sour beer events in advance of FoBAB, so I’m having one, too. With a soft French triple cream brie. Opened carefully since so many of my re-fermented beers have gushered, I instead get a happy "psssht!" and a deep, reddish-brown pours with a short, bubbly head. Smell is a little light in sourness. Probably a good thing, because my mind reaches to recall dirty gym towels for comparison. Luckily the taste helps drive that impression away. The usual tartness of sour cherries, but not very strong. Goes great with the last rinds of my cheese. In fact, after a bite of cheese, the beer seems sweeter. Alcohol is present, and of course it’s a little gassy. With all the strong flavors here, I can’t decided I taste the oak or not. I’ll just say being in a barrel gave it its own population of bugs for sourness.

Bottle @ home. Ramata, limpida, riflessi rubino schiuma beige fine e persistente. Poco corposa quasi nessuna carbonatazione. Spigolosa ma piena. Abbastanza equilibrata piuttosto armonica

Bottle 33cl. Red/brown with an off white head. A bit sour nose. Sour taste with some sweet malt. Rather short finish. Not my kind of beer.

Robe rouge, belle mousse. Nez sur les fruits rouges acidulés, une note boisée, et acidulée. Bouche à la belle attaque acidulée et fruitée, le boisé est bien intégré et la finale équilibrée. Un belle bière nettement supérieure à la cuvée de base.

pouring a deep reddish amber in a snifter glass this brew on tap at the Firkin has all the qualities expected of a great sour. The sour fruit notes on the nose with hints of floral and barnyard followed by sour cherries, raspberries, blackberries and honey. Yum. Great mouth feel of tiny champagne bubbles coating the tongue make new want another. ...But it’s just a one sour nite.

Sour cherries and wet hay, tangy. Dark caramel, hazy with beige head of fine bubbles. Lovely combination of Sweet & Sour, would be a great marinade for pork kebabs but at $7.50 for an 11 oz bottle I won’t be making them soon! Cherries, raisins, oak, honey & a few drops of barnyard funkaliciousness. Feels this but then the micro bubbles kick in and coat the inside of your mouth, interesting.

A deep, reddish brown mahogany hue that pours clear with a frothy head. The aroma, as befitting the category, is sour with cheesy overtones. The taste is pronouncedly sour with an underlying complexity that hints at apple. The carbonation is lively and complements the sour profile of this ale.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a one finger head. It has a sour cherry aroma. The flavor is a good balance of sweetness and tart cherries. It’s medium bodied and very tasty.

Caoba oscuro y espuma beis compacta. Aromas de frutos rojos, cereza, uva roja, ligeramente ácido. Cuerpo medio bajo, inició dulce y afrutado que pasa a una acidez fresca, uva y un toque tostado. El final es moderadamente ácido.
