Pours an almost impenetrable brown/red with a finger thick white head from bottle into a tulip glass. The aroma is pungent and fruity. Very thin bouncy mouth feel that is not too intense. Taste is sour, slightly cherry like but not artificially. Great beer

Bottle at home. Actually, two bottles, one is older than the other on a back-to-back tasting. Pours a deep, dark red colour with a small head. Any sediment in the bottle has compacted well, so the beer is very clear. The aroma is more like a wine, with red fruits on the nose, particularly cherry and currant. The older bottle was much more vinous and sour, almost lactic. On the tongue the beer is sweet, then really very dry. Again, in the older sample the sweetness had almost gone. On the palate, more fruit, like stewed prunes, rich grain and a nice underlying sourness that enhances the fruit. Quite a sticky beer, rich palate, but nonetheless the younger version is oddly thirst-quenching. An interesting beer, well away from the mainstream and one to return to as the depth of flavour is excellent.

750ml bottle. Clear ruby red. Vinegar in the aroma. The flavor starts sweet, then becomes sour, red apples dominate, raspberry, honey, oak barrels. A nice experience where flavors stay long.

on tap at LaTrappe in San Francisco; dark red color; cherry and dark fruit aroma; sweet cherry flavor; not very sour at all - much more on the sweet side

Clear red-brown beer with a thin head. Nose: Tart, cherry, oak, red apple, vinegar and pear. Taste: Cerry, tart, oak, sourness, sweet apple, grape, blackberries and bread. Body: Medium body with a crisp carbonation. Pretty sweet but the sourness balance the beer. Very good Grand Cru from Ichtegems with complex, balanced taste. A little to sweet for me. I think I put my remaining bottle on hold for a few years and let it mature :)

Bouteille. Robe marron glacée aux reflets rubis , mousse crème timide . Nez de caramel, vergeoise et fruits confits. Bouche fraiche, ronde et légèrement acidulée. Caramel, confiture de prune et fruits rouge. Empreinte très légère de fût de chêne. Agreable douceur flamande.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’. Murky brown, white ring. A little vinous, grapes, some cherry aroma, sweetish sherry taste. No carbonation, full body, long, sherry finish. Really nice, delicate and inoffensive.

Poured from bottle to glass. Copper hue with creamy tan head that settled to A ring. Aroma is red wine, caramel, vinuous, oak, balsamic. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweet with a light tartness following. Overall this is a decent brew.

Taste at Bohemian Bull. Interesting and complex. Pours a murky brown with a decent head. Definite wine/ oak/ cherry notes happening and sourness comes through at the end. Malty upfront. Somewhat strange on the end- apple? Overall well balanced and only slightly odd.

11.2 oz bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Best by 18JUN2019. Pours a murky dark amberish brown with very light caramel head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells solid; tart with a prominent cherry presence, but one that’s only slightly medicinal. Some light oak as well. Tastes like it smells, but significantly blander an unbalanced. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and lingers on the tongue. Meh.
