Bottle 25cl from Altonbrownd thanks a lot. A clear brown-red beer with low head. Nose is very low. Aroma is nice on fresh fruits and sweet like, notes of cherry and apricot, brown malt notes, caramel, candy sugar, slightly sour, very pleasant, oak notes peppery hops at the finish. Nice but a bit too sweet for me.

Bottle shared with DutchDrebus. Brown / dark red, nice red glow coming through. Small white head that’s quickly gone. Smell lightly sour, not much more. taste is a lot sweeter though. Low carbo and body.

Reddish brown pour with frothy tan head. A soft sour cherry aroma, with a bit of vinegar in as well. Flavor is some cherry and maderia-like flavors, but not overly sweet. Nice sourish finish.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very big tan to light brown foamy head on top of a deep dark light cloudy brown to almost black beer.
Smell something light rotten like rotten fruit, yeast, sour and yoghurt.
Taste sweets, hint of caramel, cherries, malts, light spicy, a hint of sour but more sweet, hint of herbs, prunes-a-like and a hint of liquorice.
Aftertaste is a mix of sweet red/brown fruit, sweets and spices.
Low carbo, medium to fuller body, soft mouthfeel and a light watery texture.
Smell is pretty bad the beer tastes fine.

Pours a nice ruby brown color with a hint of a white head atop the good looking elixir. Smells like artificial caramel. Burnt caramel at that. And sugar - different from the caramel. A slight fruitiness in there but hard to actually tell if it is real. The taste isn’t much better than the aroma. Like a burnt malt flavor. And a burntness leftover after the mess is swallowed down. Hello drain, meet this ’beer’.

This was a strange one to rate. Started off awesome, big deep dark pour, chunky meaty head, smell was that nice vinegery (sp?) bitter nose, kinda getting pumped because it’s smelling great....than the taste, light vinegar, big dry bitterness, very dry. But to be honest, it has that RR Supplication dryness, so if you like that, mixed with a Duchesse, your pumped, but for me, mouthfeel lost me, sorry.

A lovely ruby shimmer in the glass. Has life, off the pour it excitedly exhausted its pent up frustration to lay labour to a heaving head of foam that toppled the glass edge to level itself out a good minute later, nothing more than a quarter inch of tight tannish bubbles. Sniff, soft port, plum wine, sniff, cherry wood, oaken troff/washbay, sniff, sniff., souring, fermenting berries, some plum vinegar also, fresh bay leaves, leather, salted, fermented fish, interesting; the nose yields enough to keep ya guessing! Tart, tight and more than enough burning rubber to level peace, was first sip. Very light bodied, sadly watery but given of style. Mild vinegar, fruit vinegar more t\han malt, heavy oaken notes and the acid that attacks it , good level of smoky phenolics linger. Very soft in the mouth, not much to it, would lie if I got more. Honestly lacking as an Old brown, but not void of getting there! (25cL, BB 09/02/2012, Cellarbrations Carlisle)
