COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fresh, satisfying and easy drinking medium bodied golden ale. Moderately strong wheat flavor entwined with light hop character and a malty sweetness. Wheat based ales were originally made famous in Bavaria. This refreshing American version is cleaner and less fruity than its German counterpart. Served in an American crafted traditional 16oz. pint glass.

Draft at the brewery. A: Cloudy grapefruit in color with a thin white head. N: Sweet-tarts, raspberry-lite, grapefruit, artificial sweeteners, some pine and earth. T: Very sweet and weirdly tart. M: Light body, fizzy carbonation, no alcohol presence. O: Completely terrible fruit beer. Taste’s less like real raspberries than someone’s first attempt to clone them. Artificial and bad.

Sample at Saddle Rock in Wenatchee, WA. This brew pours a hazy pinkish-orange color with a minimal white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of raspberries and wheat. Light body with a mildly tart raspberry flavor and notes of malt and wheat. The finish is fruity with a short raspberry aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer is straw-colored with a medium thick and fluffy white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, wheat and hops. Light body with flavors of bready malt, wheat and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a grainy malt aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Draft at brewery: Light and refreshing beer. Pale yellow with a fluffy, lasting head. Lively carbonation. Doesn’t offer much in the flavor department, but I don’t think that was the intention. Malt side is bready with a hint of honey-like sweetness. Hop side offers a subdued bitterness and gentle aromas of herbs and spices.
