3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at the brewery.
A: Clear straw color with a few bubbles. No lacing.
N: Straw, corn, earth, minerality, peppercorn, grains, and grist.
T: Sweet but lightly so. No real bitterness of which to speak.
M: Light body, no alcohol, soft carbonation.
O: Better than the pilsner by far. A pretty well-rounded kolsch. Not quite up to Upright’s standards, but still enjoyable.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draught in a flight at the brewpub. I normally like this style, but not this particular beer. Nose was dirty to me, and had the typical lager/kolsch smell to it. Taste was much the same, and devoid of substance. Don’t really care for this.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear yellow-gold color with a medium foamy white head that diminishes slowly. Sticky patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, grassy hops and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of hops, biscuit malt and sweet fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
