chris_o (4393), London, Greater London, England May 5, 2008 Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, April 2008. A copper coloured, easy drinking session bitter in a resolutely traditional style. Nothing wrong with that - I’m getting rather fed up with these pale coloured beers that promise a hoppy experience but fail to deliver. This has plenty of dry, dusty malt to back up a smattering of earthy, spicy UK hops. Unlikely to dazzle but decent, honest and workmanlike. Just as a session bitter should be.
Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Cask at the Wenlock Arms, 19th April 2008, with Chris, Ian, Mes & the gang. Average in every single way - amber in colour, dull malt & hop aroma and taste and standard bitter weight. Avoid, unless you are terminally dull. maeib (3816), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jun 3, 2008 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Northamptonshire BF. A darkish copper coloured beer with a malty aroma. A sugary sweet taste with some late bitterness. Acceptable if a little odd. Finn (1050), Tromsø, Norway May 18, 2008 On cask at The Golden Lion, York 30 Apr 08.Brown colored. A tiny white head. Modest sweet fruity aroma. Hardly any flavor. Sweet bitter finish. Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Apr 24, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock. Copper coloured with a slight white rim. Straight down the line bitter with the malts upfront, a slight smoky note and a delicate bitter finish. Dull but ok.
