From the bottle it pours a jet black with a slight tan lacing; the nose is super strong homebrew (ie. overwhelmingly presence of yeast and esters imparted from the secondary) and doesn’t stay constant; strong roasted English malts with a distinguishable barley and slight hop usage on the body; easy on the tongue but drops off quickly.

Pours black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Earthy roasted chocolate aromas. Thin with sour chocolate and nuts upfront turning bitter in the dry lasting roasted coffee finish.

750 ml bottle shared by Carl- thanks, Carl! Pours a deep brown color with a medium-sized beige head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is roasty, with chocolate, mild smoke, nuts, fig, and a lot of roasted malts. The flavor has deep, rich roast, dark chocolate, earth, cake, and mild smoke. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, roasty mouthfeel. Intense. Not huge Belgian character.
