3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average fizzy tan head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted earthy malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy toasted dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is also a very good beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This draft brew from a beer festival poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation semi-opaque dark brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma was og black malts and hop. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of black malt, roasted malt and mild hops. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Tap at Brewhaven. Piney grapefruit hops and roasty malt aroma. Dark brown with a small tan head. Piney grapefruit hops, toasty caramel malt, and dark fruity flavor. Medium body, low carbonation. Nice malt/hop balance.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampler and then a pint because this was the star of the show for me. Pitch black pour with a frothy, fluffy khaki head. Nose of deep pine with roasted barley, some mango and citrus notes. Taste is richly sweet, yet pronounced bitterness throughout. Palate is fuller bodied, medium carb with a strong, lengthy finish. This is one hell of an awesome brew and stacks up well to some of the other local black IPA options I’ve had. A nice treat and I hope they keep this in the regular rotation. Thanks to Iechyd Da for an awesome night of good food and great beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap in my new mug: Deep brown with a small frothy head, good lace. The aroma has notes of citric and dank hops, grapefruit and pear esters, wheat, roast and a tad earthy vapours. The taste is very balanced, slightly fruity with a piney and pepper undertone. Roast, wheat and heathery malt component. The mouth feel is lively and slightly ashy but to style. This is most excellent, hope they have it still on tap next weekend.
