330ml bottle BBD 07 Aug 2013: poured into an ’Augustijn’ badged chalice on a snowy, cold 22 Mar 2013 at home while the wife has her nails painted.
Looked fine: nice reddy brown body with a good, full head of tan coloured foam on top. Looked away and the lovely head had done a runner to be replaced by a wispy covering and a collar.
Rich aroma of plum pudding and Christmas style warmth. Malty notes get stronger as the beer warmed in the glass and the richness faded from the initial Christmassy, plum smells.
The taste wasn’t great from the start, malty but thin and weak, a bit sickly sweet as well. A metallic and coffee feel arrived towards the end of the drink and this didn’t sit well with the sweetness at all. A little too carbonated for me: too fizzy for a decent beer.

Botella de 330ml. Vaso Lager. Saboreada en ene´13. Color Coca-cola y apariencia cristalina. Espuma marfil y corona fugaz.
330ml bottle. Lager glass. Enjoyed on jan´13. Coke color, clear appearance. Off-white froth & brief crown. Artificial aromas - sweeteners & stabilizers - provide burnt candy aromas & hints of coffee. Malt extract both in flavors & aromas. Coffee infusion & liquid sugar at first sip. Low bitterness. Light body. Medium to heavy carbonation. Watery texture. Dry astringent finish. Easy to forget. Calling this expensive beverage a beer is a joke.

rood/zwart ondoorzichtig met schuimig witte kraag.
aroma: super! chocolade, koffie, toffee, caramout, gebrande mouten, deeg.
smaken: zo dat valt even tegen; na het prima aroma krijgen we water met wat smaken binnen; matig volmoutig, zoet, brood.
licht/medium zoet van bruine suiker, licht bitter, licht/medium zuur
medium body, dun, laag co2.
Het aroma van dit bier is 10* beter dan de smaak, die te waterig en te beperkt complex is

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle purchased at IKEA. This pours a brown beer with a nice, two-finger head on top. Looks nice, aroma is fruity and malty.. I certainly did not expect this from an IKEA beer so far. First sip.. aahh here we are. Watery, little flavour. Some very faint malty sweetness, but overall very watery and lager-like... Too bad, cause this looks and smells very good.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2013
330ml bottle along with the IKEA Ol Ljus lager bought during a weekly sale at local IKEA store.Clear dark reddish brown colour; Minimal head and off-white foam which disappears in less than 20 seconds; No lacing and okay carbonation; strong smell of dark malt and cheap soy sauce; Light body and very watery palate, with taste of coffee sludge, faint malt and straw. Light but evident hop bitterness with lingers with dry after taste.
Comments: After the terrible experience I had with IKEA’s Ol Ljus lager, the expectation with this one has to be lowered. Turns out it was just as bad but in an entirely different manner. Its smell is a poor-man Mackeson XXX gone rotten, and if you can get pass that, its artificial and bad coffee taste will post a challenge to many beer tasters. Adding the non-head and watery body, this combination just doesn’t add up. Stay away.

Bottled, 330ml from Ikea, Milton Keynes, Bucks. Chestnut with off white head. Sweet, malty beer quite watery in character, there is a little roastiness apparent, but thin, maybe a hint of coffee. Nothing special about this though.

Bottle: Thanks Edwin:
Medium to bigger sized, vast, thick, fluffy and slowly changing ashy beige head on top of a
Smell lots of prunes, some raisin, some barleys, bit thin/watery(?), dough and a sprinkle of roasted chalky wood.
Taste is a strange mix of prunes, ash, cookies, low to lightly medium bitter, bread, sweat, hint of caramel, sprinkles of roast and spices.
Aftertaste is malty, prunes, light ashy and caramel and a very light bitterness.
Low to medium carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium body and a thin light creamy body at first and then the thinness slowly fades.
Nice beer, nothing great and deep but decent and pretty well balanced with some strange things in the taste but again it’s not bad.
