0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2013
330ml bottle along with the IKEA Ol Ljus lager bought during a weekly sale at local IKEA store.Clear dark reddish brown colour; Minimal head and off-white foam which disappears in less than 20 seconds; No lacing and okay carbonation; strong smell of dark malt and cheap soy sauce; Light body and very watery palate, with taste of coffee sludge, faint malt and straw. Light but evident hop bitterness with lingers with dry after taste.
Comments: After the terrible experience I had with IKEA’s Ol Ljus lager, the expectation with this one has to be lowered. Turns out it was just as bad but in an entirely different manner. Its smell is a poor-man Mackeson XXX gone rotten, and if you can get pass that, its artificial and bad coffee taste will post a challenge to many beer tasters. Adding the non-head and watery body, this combination just doesn’t add up. Stay away.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
33cl bottle from IKEA Dortmund. Smooth and fresh beginning. Not too deep, not much roast. The mainpart is fresh, easy to drink with hints of dark roasted malt, but only very subtle. Hints of sourness. The aftertaste is dry, slightly bitter, hints of roast with a very dry ending.
Not too bad! 7/12/8/8

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle, pours ruby red with a small head. Aroma initialy is pretty good, rich caramel malty and nutty. From there nothing much happens, little hop flavours noticeable, but there is some bitterness triying to find it’s way into the palate. Ultinately it’s drinkable but pretty average.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Ikea, Ashton-under-Lyne. Clear dark brown with a very thin head. Has a lovely nose including some smooth toffee but it’s not carried through to its taste which although pleasant with a light easy-drinking texture is more general in its sweetness.

Bottle, worty malty nose, deep brown with a fine tan head, sweetish with roast malt and roast coffee notes, a slightly unfinished note though.
