3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2004 Deep, dark brown body. A roasty porter with big notes of licorice, coffee, and chocolate. Nice, aggressive bitterness too. Very well-rounded. Full-bodied and big on flavor. Another nice one from Il Vicino. My most recent sample was called Pazzo Porter (rather than Platypus Porter) but I suspect that the difference is minor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On cask. Big bubbly head a top a transluscent black body. Aromas of EKG and caramel malts. A slight roastiness, a firm bitterness, a nice soft body with a dry hoppy finish. A very good robust porter.

Draft at the Central Ave location. Very little head and lightly viscuous. Very medicinal like a bad brew of coffee. Disappointment from one of my all-time favorite brewers.
