1,5 l bottle at the legendary Anker Hostel kvass rating session 2014. Dark brown body with a small, fast disappearing off-white head. Relatively strong aroma of mild roasted malt, caramel and citric acid with less rye bread than the previous sampled kvass from the same brewery. Flavor is really sweet sticky malt, almost like soda pop with root beer and some lemon. No bitterness. Thin body and sweet in aftertaste. Not really my thing.

Dark dark brown, almost black with small dark yellow head, sweet and sour, malty and carbonated, as kvass should be,.

From a 500ml plastic bottle. Cloudy ruby dark coloured body. Small tan-coloured head. Smell of sweet, dark bread. Sweet prunes, raisin and dark bready taste. Thin on the swallow. Possible to drink when you think of it as a soft drink (kindly shared by djoeye, Tromsø 07.05.2014).

Bottle 1500ml @ Hostel room - Anker Hostel, Oslo
Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, rye bread, brown sugar, syrup and wort. Taste is medium sweet with a sweet rye bread, brown sugar and hint of citric acid finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 1.5ltr, at Anker Hostel kvass rating session 2014. It’s a clear, dark brown beer with some beige bubbles on top. The aroma has quite a lot of cola, as well as caramel and some wort. Not much rye bread. The flavor is too sweet, lacking on rye bread. Caramel, raisins and cola. Thin and soft on the palate. Short, sweet cola finish. Too sweet this one, but sort of drinkable. 140503

50cl PET at some pancake place in Riga. Pours clear dark brown with almost no head. Dark malty and bready aroma with caramel and notes of dark fruits. Sweet and bready without any signs of bitterness. Quite okay, but a bit too sweet.

1,5L PET bottle. Hazy dark dark brown color, almost black. Medium size, brown head, disappears. Sweet, dark bread, roasty aroma. Horribly sweet, plastic, bready taste. Huhhh sickly sweet. Some milkiness in aftertaste.

PET 1,5l bottle in Berlin, named as Tanheiser. Almost same label. Importer is Latvian, with Berlin address. Dark brown black body. Head is minimal but thick. Aroma predominantly bread, malts and some citrus and roasted malts. Palate is thin and carbonation medium crispy.. Taste is sweet, little tart, with strong malty bread. Porter flavor brings out very nice touch to this Kvas, and although the b flavors. Basis of the Kvas is similar to other (somewhat over-sweet), but this one stays drinkable. Recommended.
