2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 larsga (5324) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 3, 2013
Small brown head. Very slightly hazy brown body. Earthy sugary rye bread aroma with spicy notes. Dry-sweetish, and faintly acidic, raisins and honey taste with grainy earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat mouthfeel. Dryish, slightly watery, earthy rye bread aftertaste with spicy notes. Decent, but a bit thin and boring. (0.5l PET bottle, from Stockmann, Riga.)

Něco mezi kofolou a pivem. Překvapivě dobré, i když trochu sladké. Prodáváno v CZ jako Rytířský kvas. Lahváč z Pivoňky.

On keg at Vecmeita Ar Kaki (Spinster With Her Cat) in Riga. Pours a black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is quite sweet with very prominent rye bread and yeast characters. Similar flavours with a sweet finish. Quite thin with moderate carbonation and a mild CO2 prickle.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 thirstyrabbit (719) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 7, 2011
1,5L bottle. Sold as "Tanheiser kali" in Estonia. Dark brown body with a low head. Light aroma of rye and CO2. Taste is light and fizzy. Light raisins in the finish. Run-of-the-mill commercial kvass.
1.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Dorqui (1768) - Brescia, ITALY - OCT 18, 2010
Draught at LIDO Atpūtas centrs (Riga).
Good appearance with a nice reddish/ruby color, good head af medium resistence, bubbly and elegant. Realy sour aroma, nearly red/pink crisp wine. Note of orange juice with lemon and little red fruits. Indeed gaunt, smooth, sweedish, unbalanced.

On tap at Ogrodzieniec Castle in Podzamcze, rated with my beerfriend ’Chmurarz’, transparent pet cup, half pint x2.
Appearance: Pours intense dark reddish brown body with surprising shades of deep dark purple hue. Carbonation of the body is natural in its origin and lively contributing to a frothy, unstable but not completely disappearing, off white, yellowish brown, conatrasting with the body colour head. There is decent lacing. Really made a great impression on me.
Aroma: Inviting notes of rye bread, fresh and strait from the bakery combined with mellow creamyness and woody notes. Gentle cola - like sweetness with notes of vanilla chockolate. Nice complexity for a Kvass style.
Flavour: Front is sweet, cola - like but well balanced, surprisingly positively not too sweet, lively carbonated on palate and refreshing. Rye bread, vanilla chockolate and contrasting notes of lemon to round the taste. Finish duration is medium. Reminding a bit a natural, non - comercial home brewed Kvass. Good job.
Palate: Body is light to medium, texture is rather wattery but with considerable sugary accent, finish feel is a kind of neutral, slightly aromatic, spicy like. The best Kvass I had so far.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 FatPhil (7494) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 4, 2008
500ml bottle.
Reddish, fizzy, pleasant tight head. Rye-bready and buttery. Made from extracts, not fermented, so not really rateable as a beer, IMHO. A little fizzy, unsurprisingly. Refreshing Russian-style kvass.

Plastic bottle
This is Russian low alcohol style "kvass". Dark ruby brown with small vanishing off-white head. Nice aroma of rye bread and chocolate. Very sweet sugary, rye bread tones. Propably good with food, hard to rate as a beer. Somehow with flat carbonation this is like t Smisje BBBourgondier :)
