2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark color with a off white head. Very few aromas, but berries and a hint of metallic, not fantastic... The taste is roasted malts, chocolate and some fruits. Not a sweet stout at all, and where is the cranberries??

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beer dated 10/14. Yeasty/bready aroma, with red berries and chocolate milk. Deep mahogany appearance with a small, rocky tan head. Sweetness to taste with an abrupt finish. Slight slick, creamy mouthful, but fairly light-bodied for a stout. Typically low carbonation

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle from Beer-Ritz, Leeds. Pours clear amber brown, not that dark for the style. Thin off-white head. Aromas of light roast and berries. Taste is the same. Thin, not to exiting. Expected a bit more to be honest.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. A clear, dark brown beer topped by a small, off-white head. The aroma is quite neutral, with caramel and some roasted notes. It’s full- to medium-bodied, with a nice carbonation level, semi-dry on the palate. Roasted malts, some chocolate and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Lasting roasted finish with a decent bitterness. A tasteful one, easy drinkable too, but i’m not impressed in any way. 140503

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light beige head, clear copper body, low foam and modest lacings.
Sweet slightly roasted chocolate malts and small fruit-flowers to the nose.
Sweet chocolate malts to the tongue, followed by a shy hop and a barbecued prune.
Easy to drink, ok body and smooth carb.
Some cocoa-toffee and dark chocolate in the finish, and the hop is less shy.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.5l bottle as Holy Cow. This is a clear warm deep dark amber almost bronze looking thing with a medium sized bubbly and light lacing cream white top. Initially not very inviting on the nose. Old and locked up earthy aromas with old coffee and old vegetables. After a while it gets a bit more interesting, sweet caramel and malty but not something I would have identifies as a stout in any format what so ever. It luckily tastes much better. Mild roasted all the way, and it’s definitely not to sweet. Lots of burned grains and coffee here and it has a mild metallic touch to the strong bitterness. Feels light oily in the mouth and it has a below average carbonation level. Did not start off all that good, but it grows in you. Old chocolate hints in the nutty bitter finish and aftertaste. 20.12.2013

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear, dark copper body with a rather small, off-white head that leaves some lacing. Roasted, moderate aroma with mild coffee, acidic fruits/berries and spices, with dark dried fruits and chocolate in the back. Very nice! The moderate flavour is less roasted, what dominates are fruits (rather acidic ones) and herbs in the fairly long-lasting moderate bitter and light acidic finish. Also fainter notes of dark dried fruits, coffee and chocolate. Moderate sweet initial taste. Mid-bodied, oily texture and too flat carbonation. A decent brew.
