Caramel, grains, fruits and grass in the aroma. Mahogany with a off white head. Medium sweet and medium + bitter. Light to medium body with a soft carbonation. Overall a really nice bitter, easy drinkable, but with some character.

(draught) pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a creamy beige head. aroma of coffee beans, chocolate cake and roasted malts, slightly oxidized, with a light hint of yeast. flavour is more roasted malts and chocolate cake, with a hint of hazelnuts and a herbal-hoppy light-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a large cream-white head with great retention. Aroma is standard brown bitter: grass, malt, toffee, red fruit. Raisins. Elderflower. Vomit, nuts. Parma violets, stewed hops, Rich tea biscuits. Bittersweet and bitter towards the finish. Some sour notes. Dry finish. Boring and bland. Could do with some black malt in it.

Cask @ The Rake (Greater London). Clear dark amber with a medium beige head and heavy lacing. Aroma is of mineral notes, light caramel and herbal presence. Taste is moderately bitter, but the bitterness is very sticky. Mineral/earthy with herbal presence and light caramel. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Bitterness is too sticky, so the beer isn’t easily drinkable or really refreshing, but it’s not completely bad either.

Bottle. Hazel brown ale with a lumpy offwhite head. Nose is toffee, wood and a large dose of hops - orange and grapefruit. Taste is heavy hopped grapefruits, lemons and tangerines - you can pull out a little toffee and it’s all nicely balanced with a sharp bitter tang. Really nice quaff, so tasty for the lowish ABV :)

500ml bottle from Booths. Pours clear copper, thick, rocky white head. Aromas of vanilla, caramel, dried orange peel. Taste has a light, almost spicy bitterness, and a mellow dark sugar sweet. But thin, but decent finish. Good.
