Golden ale with a small head. Not a huge amount of flavour, more of a textured ale and is smooth but with a thinner body. Goes down the palate well. Slightest of hoppy aroma.

Cask via handpump at CASK Pub & Kitchen, London on 4th January 2013. Copper with lasting head and no lace. Richly malty and spicy aroma. Malty then very bitter-sweet in-mouth, with some leafy herbs. Bitter end. Light texture and medium body.

Half, served from cask at The Queens Head, our local in St Pancras. Amber coloured body with a slight haze. Missing head. Fruity nose mingled with mid-sweet malts. Malt-fruity taste of herbal hops and nuts. Rounded bitter finish. A decent Brit bitter (London, 26.11.2012).

Craft. Clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and very dry. Sweetish orange and tangerine. Trace of raw grain. Finishes very dry. Flavour is fine but this is so dry I am struggling to swallow. Some mild bitterness in the aftertaste.

Cask @ CPK. Cheers to deeblo for the half! The pour’s medium amber with a small bubbly head. The nose is of mild compost, leaves, brown bread and hints of nut. The taste is mildly expressive grass, some toast. More nuts. Definitely more hop character than you’d expect from your standard bitter. Medium body, smooth. Fine carbonation. Overall, a pretty nice bitter! Fine work.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Dry, crunchy leaves in the nose, some light hay and grains. Light to medium sweet flavor with more dry leaves, faintly toasted grass, some dried orange. Decent, lingering hops. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Good condition. Bitter leaf and toasty grass finish, some toasty grains, too. Very good bitter. Pretty classic.

Cask conditioned handpump Brewery Tap Leeds 08/10/12. A nut brown coloured beer with a tight whitish head and lacing. This doesn’t work. Nuttiness; dry Yorkshireness and US hops. Fruity bitterness with a bit of rubber. An odd note of carpet. A step too far. Doesn’t help that it was served so cold.

Cask in Craft Brixton. Colour is golden light brown with decent clarity and a big foamy white bubbley head. Nose is crystal malt, nutty, ale fruity. Taste is nutty, honey-ish, crystal malt, chocolatey, and some fruity hop bitterness. Quite a lot going on in this. Like a golden ale, bitter and brown ale rolled into one.
