India Pale Ales were made for transport overseas and are strong in alcohol and strongly hopped. Our golden coloured Lotus IPA is both of these and more with summit hops from New Zealand and cascade hops from America giving strong aromas and flavours of mango, grapefruit and all round citrus.

Hmm..im wondering if i had a dodgy bottle looking at the past scoring!! anyway, bottle from Cotteridge wines. Pours a nice deep gold with soft white head. No real aroma, quite weak.If anything quite grassy. Taste is very light, medium bitterness. The hops are not standing out here at all. was waiting for that tropical, citrus hit you assocciate with Summit & Cascade hops but its not happening here. This is a very standard UK beer not the international style IPA i was expecting.

[York Beer Festival, 2014] - Ilkley Brewery Lotus IPA, 5.6%, tieforange, etwas Schaum.

Backlog rating. Cask from Well & Bucket, London. It pours a clean apricot color with a medium white head. Aroma is toffee, candy sugar, citrus peel, grapefruit juice. Taste is malty with notes of biscuit, bread, raisins, pine cones, grapefruit peel. Finishes quite dry and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, quite good

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a small glow and a frothy head. Has a nice palatable dry hop pale ale texture with fruits in its background and aftertaste.

(Cask at Kitty’s, 20140911) The beer poured amber and almost clear. Its head was small, white and it lasted. Aroma had fruitiness, earth and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were grass, earth, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was earthy, herbal and bitter. A decent but a bit harsh hoppy pale ale

Cask at Crown and Anchor, Brixton. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Light caramel aroma with a little orange. Light body, light carbonation. Doesn't taste particularly well looked after. Apple, caramel, light woody resin, grapefruit... Tastes slightly odd actually. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
