500ml dark bottle. Filtered. £3.20 from Bitter Virtue, Southampton. Mary Christmas 4.7%. A golden ale flavoured with rum and spices. It works. Very pleasant and attractive drink. A lot of these flavours can be had from using malt and yeast at the right temperature and in the right proportions, so no kudos to the brewer having to resort to spices and rum, but the end result is quite tasty. Tastes a bit like Saison and a bit like some Belgian beers, though with a little more toffee.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark honey colour with a nice head. Nose - dry biscuits cloves and honey. Taste - fruit cake, burnt raisins. Light spice and honey. Palate - close to medium bodied with a big tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - quite a few things going on. Good.
