3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
An excellent pale from Ilkley, pours golden in colour, pungent NZ hops in the Aroma. Taste is catty, grassy NZ hops, with a perfectly pitched bitterness for a pale ale. Nelson Sauvin hops are used to great effect here, I would easily put this beer right up there with Kernel and Magic Rocks offerings.

500 mL bottle into a pint glass. Gassy golden. Pleasant citrus/grapefruit aroma. Nice zesty, bitter ale. Actually quite decent. Leaves a little too dry an aftertaste however.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
An interesting one. Really dry and plenty bitter. Leaves a slight sweetness on the lips which is lacking in the mouth. Reviewer below nailed the aftertaste: cracked black pepper. Not a fan of pepperiness in beer myself I find it a bit astringent. Wouldn’t have more than one.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Came with a Beer 52 order. Bottled.
Aroma: Hops, malt, black pepper, hay.
Appearance: Pours a clear gold colour. Light white head, that lingers.
Taste: A very bitter hop taste. Slight caramel notes, with a peppery finish.
Palate: Quite bitter, yet smooth. Light carbonation. Light body.
Overall: Really odd, this one. A nice hoppy pale ale, that’s very bitter... then smooth... then peppery. That black pepper after taste is odd, yet strangely refreshing. Highly recommended!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle from beer52.co.uk. A straw colour with a ring of white head; rather subdued aroma; but a sharp fresh citrusy taste that explodes ih the mouth; and a pleasantly bittersweet finish. Good stuff.
