A dry crisp pale ale strongly hopped with wonderfully floral Nelson Sauvin hops to give a strong but mellow citrus finish.

An excellent pale from Ilkley, pours golden in colour, pungent NZ hops in the Aroma. Taste is catty, grassy NZ hops, with a perfectly pitched bitterness for a pale ale. Nelson Sauvin hops are used to great effect here, I would easily put this beer right up there with Kernel and Magic Rocks offerings.

Blonde, clear, big fluffy white head
Aroma of lemon citrus, slight floral notes, light sweet pale malts, crisp, clean
Taste of soft sweet pale malts, bitter zest, some lemon zest, bit herbal grassy, some dry hop
Palate - soft carb, light body, fairly bitter zest, light sweet. Finish as main flavour, nice sharp bitter zest, lingering bitter
Overall - Quite a decent zesty golden ale

Big offwhite head. Clear yellow body with a few floaties. Resiny gooseberry aroma with dusty mealy notes. Dryish fruity resiny gooseberry taste with grassy herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish mealy rubbery fruit aftertaste with herbal notes. The rubber is really very prominent, and kind of spoils it for me. (0.5l bottle, from Meny Oslo City.)

0.5l bottle. Yupp, it’s a pale one alright. Pale golden and only a little blurr, pretty close to clear actually. Also, it has a small little bubbly and lacing bright white top. On the nose I get a fair amount of pale malts and wet grass. It’s not directly fresh this bottle so I get a little bit of the metallicness often found in these as well. A bit harsh and there is definitely traces of diacetyl here. Other than that I think this smells like it should. Not unpleasant to drink either. It’s of course a bit thin and near watery in the mouth, but it suits the flavors. Grassy bitterness, cause it it quite citrus bitter this, dry English caramel, traces of the bitter white zest found on grapefruits and traces of metal blended with herbal tea. Easy to drink in the smmerly sun, but not a go-to summer beer for me. For that I have other alternatives. 25.04.2014

Light unclear pale golden color with a fine white head. Good lacing. Very inviting and fresh aroma. Citric and mild malty. Quite ok body for and ale at 4,2%. Moderate sweet and a fresh bitterness. Nice fresh flavor with some citrus, fruity and mild malty. Nice one.

Bottle. Appearance: Light orange, small snow white head. Aroma: Fresh cut grass, paper, fruity too. Flavour: Sweet at first, changing to bitter with a slight hoppy bite, fruity, citrus, long bitter hoppy finish. Not bad.

Fruits, citrus and hay in the aroma. Clear golden with a white head. Medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter. Light to medium body with a average carbonation. Overall a nice refreshing, hoppy Golden Ale. A bit more bitter than i am used to, but a sweet fruity flavour balances this brew very well.

Aroma has citrusy hops, some gooseberry bush and hay. Perhaps some caramel too. Flavour has herbal bitterness, some grapefruit and gooseberry bush leaves. I do not like the herbal bitterness here, but decent stuff anyway.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Clear straw coloured beer, plenty of fizz and a nice frothy white head. Looks like a pint of decent pilsner! Smell is of grass, harsh citrus, some nettles. Taste is of white grape with high levels of bitterness. Dry finish. Very refreshing and pretty moreish. I like the simplicity on offer here. Good summer beer.
