Rhubarb Saison
Brewed with renowned writer, Melissa Cole, author of bestseller "Let Me Tell You About Beer". We have used world famous Yorkshire rhubarb to add a hint of sourness. There is earthy spice from the Saison yeast, and fresh vanilla to bring out the sweet notes from a blend of Noble Central European hops. A rich golden colour, this naturally hazy Saison is truly a world beer, refreshing on the palate, with a long, satisfying bittersweet finish. Due to popular demand, Siberia will now join our permanent list in bottle and keg. Siberia is now exported and available in the US

A pale golden beer which remains quite cloudy after itís been poured and holds a thin head. A mild, sweet smell which I assume was of rhubarb while the flavour is fairly mild but quite distinctive all the same. For both taste and strength itís one Iíd have a few of over an afternoon rather than get stuck into for an evening. Very nice though.

Bottle from Glug Newcastle. Pours light amber colour - light white head. Good strong earthy flavour - bready, sourness, rhubarb. Very enjoyable

Keg at The Beagle, Chorlton. Clear vivid golden shade with a thin white cap. Opens up with honeyed malt and white grape sharpness. Can just about sense the rhubarb in the depths. Body is robust and carbonation quite high. Dry finish. Quite a classy beer, but not so much in line with what Iíd expect of a saison.

Bottle from bier huis, ossett. Vivid amber ale it a reasonable white head. Vinegar and grass on the nose. A lot milder when tasted, still slightly sour but sweet and mild bitterness too. Not getting much rhubarb but still like it. Mild carbonation, nice medium body.

Cybercat (3228) - Georgia, USA - MAY 13, 2014
Pours a clear golden with a fairly thick ivory head. Crisp, malty aroma has a note of yeast and a hint of - rhubarb? Malty flavor has yeasty, bitterish rhubarb and hoppy notes plus a hint of honey sweetness. Must be the vanilla. Texture is smooth and fairly fizzy, a little hoppier than other saisons I have sampled. In memory of my beloved Ragamuffin, the alley cat who was part of my life the better part of 17 years.

Pours rich gold with a fast diminishing white head. Light body, goes down smoothly with a warming afterglow. Belgian yeast and citrus on the nose, tasty rhubarb and herbal flavours, lingers after the swallow. Really rather good

chinchill (1722) - South Carolina, USA - MAY 7, 2014
500 ml bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours golden-amber in color; clear; some bubbles that barely form a head before dying. No lacing to speak of. Aroma: tart, fruity and earthy. Flavor: at least as bitter as it is tart, the rhubard is otherwise hard to detect. Mild for style but still complex. Feel: low carbonation seems adequate but lower than optimal. O: better than feared; weaker than hoped.

I gotta admit, I was expecting something...weirder, I guess. Not that this is a bad beer - itís not, itís a perfectly tasty saison, with lots funky delicate flavors - but I guess I was thinking "English Saison w/Rhubarb" would be be more memorable...

Appearance: Clear golden/light amber with finger thick white head. Aroma: Biscuity malt, smoked malt, peppery, earthy, fruity and umami. Taste: Medium sweetness and sourness, low bitterness and a smoky undertone. Palate: Thick smooth texture, medium body, low carbonation, abrupt fruity, malty, smoky, umami finish, with growing bitterness. Comments: Tasty and glass lace.
