2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle-Not sure how to quantify, "at least it didnít totally suck," in the rating. Actually, I was surprised by the beer, of course I had it with some S. American food, so it matched well. I didnít detect any aroma, maybe some sweetness, but I could be mistaken. The color was straw and the head was a large bubbly affair. The the taste was sweet with a touch of malty and no hop, it was also pretty watery. Itís in the Corona family, but better, not by much, but still better.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Poured a light amber with an average frotthy white head that diminished slowly. Moderate hoppy citrus aroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture. Light bitter sweeet flavor with soft short finish. Light beer crowd will love this brew.

0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Pale golden beer, thick white head. Very little aroma, a faint corn and dish soap aroma perhaps. As it warms a hint of pear. Flavour is watery and bland. No bitterness to speak of. No need for this boring brew.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Having some poor luck of late with the beers Iíve chosen to buy. This one was the Brazilian equivalent of Carlton Cold, and yet know one wants to claim they brewed it. InBev has produced it, itís bottled here by Carlton & United and it has the biggest warning sign "For export only" adorning the piss-poor label. Some lucky kids could mistake this for a bottle of soda and have a wonderful afternoon as it has no nasty beer qualities in it to turn the little blighters off. In fact I think they should market it towards kids for two reasons- 1) Theyíll soon stop downing them when the headaches start and 2) You wonít catch too many adults admitting to drinking the stuff, itís like poison. Poured a clear, pale gold with an artificial, dense white crown that persisted for the length. Feint aroma of wet cardboard and nothing else, certainly making it even more enticing. Ultra-light in body and frothy on the tongue. Chemically sweet like Nutri-sweet tablets upfront with a sour, astringent, mouth-puckering feel down the back before its highlight- no aftertaste!!! (for this one it was a plus). This was pitiful, making a bottle of Corona or Sol look like tasty alternatives. A six-pack of these would be followed by six-days of headaches and vertigo with the amount of sugar this was brewed with. On the positive side, I only have to try it once!!! 1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
(12 oz bottle: Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) Oh joy, hereís the next "big thing" import to hit Southern California, and the radio spots are hilarious. Interviews with phony beer "enthusiasts" talking about how amazingly bold this beer is. Yeah okay, bold compared to Corona Light maybe, but this is still pretty thin and watery rubbish that relies on aggressive, unimaginative marketing and a stupid, curved bottle to attract customers. It pours a medium straw body capped by half an inch of white head. Many streams of carbonation bubbles rise quickly through the crystal clear liquid, so while the head is still around, this isnít a bad looking beer. But that head dissipates rapidly and leaves no lacing, so the clarity is about all this beer has going for it. The unpleasant flavor combines lightly sweet grain and cardboard. Not even a trace of hops here. The nose is entirely wet cardboard and some stinky grain, again, no hops. Light, watery body, moderately carbonated. Well, thatís it. I bought my one bottle, $1.30 just to officially rate this garbage. Wonít ever buy or drink this again. I managed to choke down five ounces and now the rest will go down the drain.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
12 oz bottle. The only good thing about this beer is that it wasnít skunked. Half expected a good skunking thanks to the clear bottle. Soapy dishwater head and almost no aroma. Flavor was watered down Corona. Blah!!!!

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2007 2005 bottle purchased from Julioís (kept in cooler) and consumed on 2/14/06. Burnished copper backdrop amid a bright maize-golden body, with a multitude of medium-large sized bubbles rising quickly to create an initially moderate white head that is not retained, diminishing immediately to ring with no trace of anything left on the glass. The nose shows a touch of light vanilla, dry bittering hops, seltzer water (carbonic acid) and light cornmeal. Clean water, no yeast apparency in the nose and only really the vanilla is notable as a slight flaw. The flavor begins with light malt sweetness (honey, light dough) and a hint of corn, quite real and authentic, though I have no idea what type of corn is used. It doesnt taste like corn syrup, anyhow. No hop flavor, some very brief interludes of bitterness and a well integrated carbonation provide for an extremely refreshing, drinkable session beer. Nearly flawless, with the above mentioned sweet corn flavor done quite tastefully. Some bits of crisp yeast on end, but fleeting. Watery, of course, but nothing out of style, with no alcohol apparency. Carbonation is not sharp.
Here are some things I didnít find in this beer:
tinny aroma, hella crappy taste, boiled cardboard, salty quality, corn syrupy taste, wheat and vegetables, sweet dough and banana, cheap hair tonic, stale pond water, bland metallic tinge, peaches, gasoline, smoke flavor, sourish malt aroma, soapy, harsh and chemical.
I will make sure to look for those next time I have this. . . . .

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pale golden body with an ordinary white head. Plain ordinary taste that is not too offensive, mainly malt without any hops making too much of an impact, watery, corny, short finish and not too much else.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottled. Typical and not bad aroma, fruity, malty, sweet. Darker yellow color, white head, good lace. Very sweet, malty, no hops in sight, strange fruitiness, hint of apple, light body. Aroma looked ok but right after the first sip the beer became bad.
