2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 flying_pig (614) - SCOTLAND - SEP 17, 2012
Bottle (330ml from Tesco UK):
Corn & bread with a little touch of light, grassy hops and a background skunky aroma that isn’t helped by the clear bottle of the beer. There is some basic cheap adjuncts in the way of malts as well but the beer isn’t offensive in any way and smells better than a lot of cheap pale lagers out there.
Quite a light golden straw colour with a thin, centimetre tall head that is bubbly and turns to a soapy lacing after about twenty seconds.
Corn and bread along with some malt like adjuncts and a grassy hop background taste. There is a little bit of citrus lemon in there and a slightly acidic taste.
Light but not watered down, slightly grainy but not overly and with medium to strong carbonation and a wet, crisp finish and some sort of citrus tang as well.
Not a great lager but easy drinking and goes down well meaning it will still be my go to beer when no craft offerings are available. Not great but decent as a session beer if nothing else is on offer.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Palme (2234) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 3, 2012
0.33l clear bottle. A crystal clear golden one, some few unfiltered particles floating around and it has a small just off-white lager head. Smells light sweet and quite grainy. I get some sweet corn-like tones here. Not much more. It’s average to lively carbonated and it has a thin almost watery mouthfeel. The taste is not that bad actually. Yes, it it on the sweet side of the scale, but I detect no skunkiness what so ever from the clear bottle. Really easy drinking, and it’s leaving a mild malty taste in my mouth. 06.08.2012

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 Beerheart65 (677) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 28, 2012
Medium strong aroma is fruity but also has some unpleasant impurity as gets warmer..strange meat like aroma. Pale straw yellow, clear. Short white head. Taste is light, sweet and fruity but also cardboard, metal, impurities. Thin body and texture, mid carbonation. Light one for thirst. Quite fruity, nothing muchmore worth mentioning. Not much aroma or flavor. Had to rerate as this one gets lots worse when it warms up..lot of impurities rise from the grave then...ugly.

Bottle looks simple. Beer in the glass not very zippy, almost no head. Starts mild, sourish, moldy and soapy. Almost undrinkable. Hard to empty the glass. Bah!
