The only thing more disappointing than drinking this beer is finding out that it doesn’t give me a rate from Brazil!! Actually, what’s even more disappointing is now I find out I’ve already got a rate from Brazil. This was one of those offensive pale lagers, as opposed to the many out there that are inert but drinkable. Smelt and tasted like a sugar driven brew, which just screamed hangover the minute I cracked the cap. Some sweetness that really feels like it is rotting my teeth, like that brown fizzy drink "everyone" loves. A couple of swallows was enough to give me some gaseous burps, making me taste it two more times than I would have wished. This is bad enough for me, that I feel I can confer my first 0.5 on it.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 northropfrye (653) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 8, 2011
Bottle. Kind of off and offensive, esp. for a Dutch beer. Really not good at all.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 mabjork (652) - Vasa, FINLAND - AUG 9, 2006
Bottled. Clear golden in colour. Minor whie head. It has a malty and hoppy aroma. The flavour is sweet and somewhat dry. It’s otherwise malty and hoppy.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrRoss (646) - Delta, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 15, 2009
Had a couple of these the other night over at the neighbours. I’m not sure how receptive my mouth was to evaluating this beer, as I’d started the evening with 6 Stellas, 3 Drambuie Black Ribbons, and a ten-year old tawny port. My Brahmas were ’examined’ directly from bottle to mouth. The colour was an average gold, and I don’t think there would’ve been much head if poured into a glass. Aroma was not unpleasant, a bit of hop. Taste, mouthfeel, and aftertaste were better than a cheaper swill pale lager, but I wouldn’t feel left out if I didn’t have another one of these. I was most reminded of the ’other’ Brazilian, Amarca Bavaria. I only ever seem to have this stuff when served it by my neighbour, after I’ve come in from consuming a wide variety of drinks elsewhere. If he wants to pay a premium $ for something that isn’t as good as say, Old Style, so be it.

Pure piss in a glass. Just read my rating of Sol to find out about how good this beer is as I can be bothered to waste time making any worth while comments.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Moz (613) - Gothenburg, SWEDEN - MAY 12, 2007
Bottle. Pale golden colour with a white head. Aroma is grainy. Not much flavour, just a light hint of boiled vegetables.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Tessic (611) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2009
This lager poured a clear, light yellow colour with a quick living, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of corn and malt. First taste was very watery. Flavours of corn, light malt and water and thats about it. Finish is slightly creamy with the flavour of aluminum trailing to the end.
