COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This collaboration has been ‘brewing’ for quite some time. Indeed Brewing Company partnered with their neighbors at Dogwood Coffee to create Burr Grinder “Beer Coffee”. After searching for the perfect coffee, 90-pounds of Guatemalan Finca Rosma was steeped in the brew kettle before we topped-off the finished beer with 54-gallons of cold press. Delivering an intense coffee punch while preserving the delicate aromas of the complex beans, Burr Grinder will have you wondering whether you’re a beer geek or a coffee geek.

Poured from a 750ml bottle, thanks to Doug. Big coffee/jalapeno nose, chocolate, coffee, toffee, toasty malts. Nice brown ale as the base.

On tap at a local restaurant. Strong coffee aromas with the less typical brown ale style is a great combo.

Not bad, not great. It had very mild "green" coffee flavors. This made it more sour than needed. Palate was nice and light.

Side-by-side with the Big Wood Morning Wood. Amber brown color. Great, great coffee aroma, but the flavor was way out of whack--it tasted like the coffee grounds that my grandmother would put in a slop bucket on top of other things like melon rinds and last night’s dinner. Bitter notes, too intense and somewhat difficult to drink--and I love coffee beers. (on tap, Groveland Tap, St. Paul)

On tap brewery pours a orangish brown with a large off-white head. Aroma of fresh roasted coffee and caramel. Taste is roasted coffee and caramel with some slight nuttiness. Mellow smooth and enjoyable. Easier to drink and enjoy the coffee then a lot of heavy coffee stouts.

March 16, 2013 - Bottle shared by Brandon. Light brown pour with some head that stuck around a bit. Aroma and taste were roasted malt and big time coffee. Thin to medium body and dry finish.

On tap at the brewery, pours a reddish brown with minimal tan head. Scent is all coffee grounds, like walking into a coffee shop. Taste is like a cup of coffee, I actually really enjoy this even though it doesn't have much of a beer flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Indeed. Reddish brown pour with a smaller soapy head. This is all coffee grounds on the nose and taste - which sits just fine with me. Tasty brew.

Draft at republic. served hella cold in a tulip glass. Slightly hazy light brown in color, with a nice off white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is big cold pressed coffee, not oily at all, with really nothing else. Interesting to have a coffee beer without all of the dark malt character (chocolate, roast, etc) present in many coffee beers that go the more traditional route. Really liked the way this one smelled, but the taste kinda fell flat. Not much else there aside from coffee and a tiny bit of biscuit/toast malt. Finish is slightly acidic, in a carbonic acid sort of way. Not my favorite offering from Indeed.
