COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Regionally grown American pale malt is blended with rich European malts to produce a lighter bodied beer, bright in color, with a taught white head that keeps track of time as you sip. Then there are the hops – four pounds per barrel to be exact. Willamettes, Cascades, CTZ and Summits give this brew a citrus punch and spicy character that greets you in the nose and embraces your mouth with a clean, crisp bitterness.

Can. Pours a slightly hazy bright copper body with a small frothy white head that faded slowly to a thin film. Some nice lacing remained. The nose is really great, loaded with fresh citrusy hops that are bright and vibrant. They pretty well dominate the malt, which is OK by me for an APA. The flavor has a nice balance between the hoppy flavors and the bitterness, more hoppy up front, then snappy bitterness on the back end. They really packed a whole lot of hops into here, especially compared to the average APA. Light bodied and pretty easy drinking with a nice long finish. Maybe a touch of cattiness on the late finish as it warms, but it’s not especially a problem for me. This was a pretty nice beer. First beer from this brewery for me, hope they are all as good as this.

Can from an unremembered trade - thanks, ticker! Always cool to discover an unassuming but really satisfying beer like this. Bright amber pour with a vibrant carbonation and a moderately fluffy head. Inviting aroma of deep fruity citrus with healthy amounts of grassy bitters. Full bodied, smooth, and a dry finish. The flavors accentuate and deepen what’s in the nose, with a really terrific combination of an Alpine-ish fruitiness with super bitters, almost pure grass. Really nice.

Can: The aroma consists of moderate citrus, light peach, caramel, and grapefruit. IT pours a mostly transparent amber with lots of fine sediment. It has two finger cream colored head with good retention and lots of webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and fruit/peach. The finish has moderate-heavy grapefruit and lighter grassy notes. It’s light bodied with moderate-lively carbonation.

On tab at brewery. Pours a cloudy amber color with a very decent thick head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, and lemon. Bitter taste which I like very much. One of my favorite local brews, I could drink a few of these.

Can from khoffman43, many thanks. Enjoyed while swapping out sets of new grandparents. Pours lovely tan amber with a thin off white head, lacing on the side of the glass. Nose is strong with hop resin, flowers, and citrus. Taste begins balanced with malt then butterness comes full bore with resin and a twinge of fresh hop powder. Body is a tad thin, but makes for an easy drinker.

355mL can, sent from khoffman43 (thanks a lot, Kyle), pours a hazy golden with a small just-off-white head. Very inviting aromatics, full of floral hops, a bit of resin, and some crisp crackery malt. Flavour brings out dry, citrusy, floral and very grassy hops upfront, with some crisp crackery malt in back just to balance things. Drinks very easily, with a nice dry, crisp mouthfeel, leaving a mild astringency on the finish. Very solid pale ale.

Aroma- Jumps out of the glass with marmalade, mild tropical and pine hops. Appearance- good head, tight bubbles. Taste- deep orange, lemon, some pine. Fresh and hoppy. Palate- Surprisingly long finish that is also sharp, clean, and a bit oily. Aroma makes you think it is going to be huge, but it isn’t. Great beer, but a bit too big for a pale. Favorite quality is that the finish leaves you wanting more and isn’t too strong or bitter, despite all the hops.

Poured from a 12 ounce can thanks go khoffman. Pours a hazy copper color with a white head of foam. The aroma is citrusy and piney. Heavy citrus. Taste is not near as potent as the aroma, but still pretty good. Really good pale ale.

Can from Santa. Hazy deep golden pour. Sweet candied hops were strong up front. Lots of piney, citrus driven hops with a touch of sweet caramel. This reminds me why I’m a fan of Summit. Dry dusty bitter finish. Mouthfeel was slick and on the light side but the carbonation helped a bit. Nothing bad to say about this one. Nicely balanced stand out pale ale.

12 oz can from khoffman43. Thanks Kyle! This one pours a really nice dark golden color with a white head. The aroma explodes with candy coated tropical fruity hops and an equal dose of floral/spiciness that adds a beautiful accent. There is definitely a decent amount of caramel malt here, but rather than detract from the hop profile, it actually compliments it well by giving it a hop candy aroma. The flavor is pretty much the same with more dry grainy flavors to go along with a good dose of caramel that is in good balance with strong spicy, floral hops. More bitter and dry than I would’ve guessed from the aroma. Overall, a very very good pale ale. True to style, but with some extra pizazz. Would seek out again even though I probably have to trade to get it.
