3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from South Lyndale Liquors (Minneapolis, Minnesota, 22/1/13)
Spices, resin, and earthy aromas. Pours a hazy dark red-brown color with a thick and frothy off-white head. Taste is slightly sweet and slightly tart, with a warm boozy finish. Medium bodied, thin texture, and a soft carbonation. Pretty good.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear reddened amber; the tepid appearance creates an early perception that this is weak and too thin. Gingerbread cookie, molasses, seared pineapple in the aroma. This ultimately lacks depth, but thereís an interesting development that takes place when the initially earthy, almost spruce like ginger root character reveals its pleasantly startling, unique spiciness. The flavor is all ginger and needles, supported by bland caramel, some brown banana and some soggy, leafy earthiness. The malt makeup here doesnít match up well with the alcohol level, and this can expose some medicinal qualities. Thin palate causes the pressure of sugars to feel more intense than it ought to. The fresh ginger is the saving element for me here, to a point.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
solid; probably agend a little too long very malty brew - perhaps due to the aging but I didnít get much spice - definitely not the normal holiday stuff; some ginger in taste with caramel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Aster Cafe. Pour is reddish/amber with white head. Aroma of spices and malt. Ginger is noticeable but not overpowering. Taste has hint of spice but finishes sweet. Well balanced. Not a typical over spiced holiday ale.

Bottle from Amy! Clear dark brown pour, light, thin lasting head and an aroma of sweet (but not overpowering) fresh ginger. Flavor is nutty caramel, mellow ginger & clove and finished a bit sweet. Decent and worth picking up at least once.

Bottle via Levi, thanks for this at Christmas! Pours a hazy medium brown with tan head. Aroma is slight ginger with some chocolate and spice. Taste is thin but has the ginger and malt thing going on. Slight bubble gum and cloves. Nice at Christmas dinner.

Tap pour at New Bohemia. Letís start by saying itís no Stir Crazy. Smell is festive with good clove presence. Deep amber color. Tastes slightly malty sweet within very little bitter hops to be found. Maintains a refreshing flavor but finish is a little bit of a let down. Very mild flavor. If given a choice, go with Stir Crazy in the winter. Far superior.
