COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If California were Quincy Street (the home of our brewery in NE MPLS) this is what a California Common would taste like. The experimental hop variety HBC 342 provides steamy notes of tropical fruit while the hazy orange body anchors this hoppy take on a classic style

Pour on tap at APN 2013, orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of biscuit, bread, hints of citrus peel, slight grainy notes with a mix of orange, slight spicy, earthy tones as well. Taste is hoppy with some orange, grapefruit, hints of grass, grain and biscuit, caramel, some spice notes finishing bitter, dry.

Taproom 8/3/13. 5% 75 IBU. Aroma of resinous piney hops. Cooper hazy with white head and good lacing. Taste is hop forward, piney resin, grain malt that has a tart finish which is not good but is still tasty. Surly Furious fans will fig this hoppy version of a cali common. Delicious overall

Half pint draft at the Indeed taproom in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The pour is a clear orange with a smallish white head. Decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppier than expected, quite a bit of citrus resin and pine right off the bat, moving towards wet cereal grains in the back. The taste follows the nose, bright citrus pine resin hops paired with a malt grain backbone. The palate is medium to light bodied, dry mineral finish. Tasty and unique California Common.

Sample at APN. Citrus hops, malts, bitter at the end. More flavor than I expected.

Sampled at All Pints North 2013 in Duluth, big malty citrus hop scents, taste is a very dry bittering finish

On tap at Grumpys NE, pours a copper/orange with a small off white head. Wow lots of hops in the aroma, resinous pine, and citrus, some malt and grain. Taste is hop forward, lots of hop bitterness, under the hops hints of grain and malt. More of a pale ale than California common, just too hop forward. I heard they had some issues with the grain and malt that were out of their hands, still enjoyable, as a pale ale.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Indeed. Orange pour, white head. A slightly hoppy common - unique and cool. Soft aroma and flavor. Nose is a bit floral.
