Really nice amber. One of my favorites. Even better as the glass warms up. Well balanced and easy to drink.

Dull caramel with no hops and little malt to redeem it. I wasn’t disappointed when I had finished the pint.

TX Brew Fest. Aroma is a nice malt, and it pours like iced tea with a strawberry syrup within it. Taste is a biting hops and roasted malt. Palate is slippery. Nice effort, but a few tries away from an excellent beer. Keep trying!
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 shadey (1628) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 5, 2004
Clean, refreshing. Very impressed with everything from Independence. I tried a lot of what would be called their "smaller" beers, and I thought they were of quality. The amber was no different.

very clean and simple, what you´d expect of a competent amber. lightly nutty with only a hint of bitterness
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Nuffield (3090) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - SEP 3, 2003
Musty, woody, caramel amber. Bright amber color (surprise surprise). Malty base with a bit of fruit, though slight. Strong carbonation tingling my tongue, mild bitterness, with a long finish in the mid-back of the tongue. A bit of burn seemed to hit my lips--was it really the alcohol?
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BeerSlacker (34) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 18, 2003
Hoppy nose, amber colour. Northwest hops (Cascades) given the style a definite push in the Pale Ale direction. Light-bodied, finishes dry and hoppy. Refreshing on a hot summer day.

Part of a sampler. Was a little bitter for an amber. Besides that nothing really going on here.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Braudog (4607) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - APR 5, 2003
Light amber and red with a light hoppiness to the nose. A sweet caramel beer with gentle bitterness. Their best beer.
