COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A special blend of malted barley - lightly to darkly roasted - creates layers of toasty sweetness, balanced by the citrusy notes of Cascade hops. Burnt orange with a laid back finish, this is the beer of Austin.

Bottled. Poured a medium brown with white head. Malty and nutty _more brown than amber. Not bad.

Brownish colour. Malty aroma and flavour. Pretty average beer. Inoffensive but not interesting.

Shared with northopfrye. Thanks! Pours a hazelnut colour. Toasty and nutty aromas and flavours. Some sweet maltiness as well. Underwhelming though.

Meh. Poured a deep brown colour and had a white head. The malts were just all wrong on this one- way too burnt.

Pours a deep copper colour with a fluffy head. Sweet malty aroma, but its pretty mild. Flavor is all malt. Almost no hops here. Not a malt bomb, but light malt. It’s not a bad beer.

Pours amber with a small, light tan head. Smells a bit toasty with hints of toffee. Taste is a bit bitter with hints of toast and toffee. Medium-bodied with a mostly smooth texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Independence Brewing Austin Amber finishes with hints of sweetness.

Roasty, lightweight Amber. Bitter aftertaste, feels very uninspired. This beer just put me off.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2012 Location: 12 oz bottle at Moonshine Restaurant in Austin, 2/20/12

Aroma: It has an aroma of sweet malts, caramel, and some toast
Appearance: This one pours a clear amber color with minimal head
Flavor: The taste is medium sweet, on the malty side, with a fairly light bitterness
Palate: This one is fairly light and drinkable on the mouth, it borders on watery
Overall Impression: This is a drinkable beer, but nothing too exciting. It was fine, but I wouldn’t rush out to try it again.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2012 OK, it?s not great but it was nice to drink while checking out the 6th Street scene at Austin. Easy to drink, not very hoppy. Nutty malt flavor.
