3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught. Smoky sweet nose, coffee and nutty malts. Ruby-brown with nearly no head. A bit bland but what’s there is good, mellow sweet coffee with some light bitterness. Thin, but not to too much of a fault.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mar. 2007 - Dark, dark brown, little head or lacing. Really roasty aroma. Robust roast and nutty flavor with a strong smokiness. The smokiness really made it interesting. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This bottled brew from JSquire at a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent uncarbonated brown colored body and a poor lacing. The smooth stout like mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The yummy flavor contained notes of dark malt brown malt and mild caramel. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

nutty alcohol aroma, dark brown color. Very nutty sweet malt, almost burnt taste. Not my favorite.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
I thought this beer was one of the better TX craft beers I’ve had. It was a really nice brown ale with lots of caramel and roasty ("burned pizza crust") flavor.
This beer poured a rather flat-looking reddish-brown into a pint glass. The head materialized rather late after I’d poured the beer. Aroma was pretty nice; a lot of brown sugar caramel-ness. Flavor was also good - a nice blend of caramel and burnt roastiness. I thought this beer had a lot more flavor than many other brown ales I’ve had. Mouthfeel was a bit boring and thin, but not bad. I’d have this again.

Garnet red beer against the light with a thin light greenish head and a dusty chocolate nose. Burnt coffee, dark chocolate, some ash and caramel sweetness. Decent for a brown ale.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with bu11zeye (thanks!). Poured a deeper and cloudy brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, and caramel. Tastes of roast, chocolate, nuts, and had a light coffee bitter finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown/ruby color with a very bubbly off-white that disappeared quickly. Aroma is chocolatey and nutty with a little roasted character, too. Tastes nice and chocolatey with a roasted cofee flavor as well... very nice. Nice aftertaste where the roasted flavor comes out more strongly. Would love to have this one on tap.
12 oz. bottle.

I couldn’t get a good head going on this one, must’ve been a bad pour. Anyways, smells potently of coffee and a strong but not over powering chocolate taste (the carbonation combines with it nicely). The body’s not too heavy, I could easily have more than one in a sitting.
