Not a bad brew at tall. Caramel, malty notes. A mellow brew. Strange thing thick like a stout. But it’s an ale. But then again as they say Keep Austin Weird!

Pours a cola colored brown with a small white head which dissipates quickly......aroma typical of browns with a slight mineral, light touch of coffee.......taste is nice mouthfeel and slight toasted grain, touch of mineral and pulpwood. A fair english brown.

Bootlegger Brown Ale has a rather thin, cream-colored head, a semi-clear, red-brown appearance, and a bit of lacing left behind. The aroma is of brown bread crust, some chocolate, and even a hint of coffee. Taste is of sweet bread crust, chocolate, bitter coffee, and a char. Mouthfeel is light, and Bootlegger Brown Ale finishes semi-dry and easy drinking (as described on the brewery website). RJT
