Bottle: Light brown color, light head. Nose of light earthy hops and a caramelly maple note. The flavor is chewy with nutty cocoa note, mild chocolate and a sweet nuggat overtone. Decent brown ale, in the middle, decent body, robust tail. Respectable.

Bottle courtesy of Bockhorsey. Pours a clear dark brown with minimal head, sans for a soap scum on top, but leaves some spotty lacing. Nose is roasted nuts and a touch of coffee. Taste is smoky, mild coffee and roasted walnuts with a semi-sweet toffee finish. Medium, fairly creamy mouth feel. I’m not a huge fan of brown ales but I’d drink this one again – I liked it better than Moose Drool. Probably because it’s not nearly as sweet. Decent brew. Thanks Bill!

(On tap at Opal Devine’s on June 6, 2008) Amber-brown color, not very transparent, but clear. Opal Devine’s pored into pint glass, can’t remember if there was a head. Oops! Darn Air France. Typical Independence smell. Taste is lightly sweet and watery malty, goes down easy. Nut flavor is noticeble, but not easily identifiable. A pretty good beer, but not all out for the flavor ride.

Bottle thanks to Swalden_28. pours out a light brown topped with a small head.A nice aroma of nuts and some sweetness. Tast of some roast and a little sweetness maybe some chocolate. A pretty good brown.
