Half pint at Ginger Man in Austin. I drank about half because of the high ABV and it was too early on NYE to over do alcohol. It was very good, though. Very rich and dark with a roasted nose that also had some cocoa. The flavor was roasted with a coffee bitterness but it was quite smooth. The alcohol was well hidden. This was very nicely done.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours black with a modest tan head and a chocolate aroma. There is a creamy oat and chocolate flavor with a dry bitter finish.

Draft at Ginger Man Austin. Black pour with little head, thin lacing. Nose of milk chocolate, some vanilla, and coffee. Taste is chocolate and roasted malts, cocoa and coffee bitter finish. Nice smooth creamy body. Not overly complex, but overall an enjoyable oatmeal stout, nicely done.

Pours black with a medium mocha head. Aroma is roasty with some burnt notes, dark chocolate, coffee, and subtle smoke. Flavor is roasty with nice dark chocolate and just a faint hint of smoke...a bit of burnt notes. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and the finish is very roasty and slightly chocolatey...warming and lingering. I think this is pretty good...seems a bit underated.

4 pack purchased by buddy and brought back from Houston. been waiting to try this for awhile as this is a fav style.. black pour with beige head. aroma of roasted malts some dark fruits. Nice taste; more complexity as it warmed - have the roasted malts plus the velvet smooth oats slight chocolate and a drying malt ball finish - I don’t like malt balls. will rate again, this rating will probably increase

An extra in a trade: In terms of Oatmeal Stouts, this one is big and ballsy. The appearance is beautiful ... pitch black with mocha brown head ... taste is big as well .. surprise! Quite a large hop presence followed by the smooth pillowy texture to be expected by this style. Pleasantly surprised!

My first Texas beer! Got this one as an extra in a recent trade with jenray. Poured into my NB Globe. A - Pours pitch black with a small one finger tall tan head leaving minimal lacing down the glass. S - Smells of rich coffee, chocolate, dark roasted malt, and a touch of booze. Not overly complex yet enjoyable none the less. T - Starts off with a big dose of dark roast and coffee grounds that linger throughout the sip. Some chocolatey sweetness creeps in after the roast dies down a touch but it doesn’t stick around for very long. Finish is pretty roasty with a small alcohol burn. M - Heavy body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Dark, roasty, feel that clings to the pallet after each sip. O - Not too bad. It was fairly well balanced and easy to drink. This one really hit the spot on a cold night like tonight.

A great beer. Very strong however. Poured into a snifter from bottle. Smells good but I am having trouble describing it. It is very dark with a dark tan, slim head. The taste is empowering. It has a strong, almost coffee taste to it. Good carbonation. A really good beer brewed close to my hometown. I am definitely going to enjoy this one slow though!

Bottle… this beer rocks!… Pours tar black with a small, creamy, well-tanned head. Great retention. The aroma is a medley of toasted tree nuts alongside huge, rich mocha and a whisper of vanilla. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Roasty, toasty and mildly bitter. Deeply roasted finish. Excellent oatmeal stout. Kudos to ericandersnavy for shipping this world class beer to me!
