Bottle at home, pours dark brown with little khaki head. Aroma is nice chocolate and coffee malts, slightly sweet, a bit of roast and char. Taste is dark chocolate, black coffee. This warms with some slight sweetness and a bit of oatmeal. Finishes slightly bitter. Heavy mouthfeel, high carbonation. Nice.

Pours a clean and dark opaque black with one finger of chestnut brown head. The nose is nice, shows burnt sugar and a lightly acidic coffee roast with dark fruit skins and sweet mocha. A light burnt grain acidity at the front of the mouth with a nice roast note to follow. Bitter coffee and dark chocolate show. Medium full bodied with an acrid finish.

12 oz. bottle, shared and poured to snifters showing a black/brown hue, with brownish tan head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, cocoa, a touch of coffee, and some treacle, with hints of vanilla & coconut. Medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste added a moderate, earthy & roasted, hop bitterness that lingered with a pleasantly dry finish, some silkiness to the mouthfeel, and more of a hidden alcohol presence. What I would have expected the vanilla version to taste like. Not overly bold for an Imperial, but quite tasty, with all the right notes.

Brown heady and black from tap. Smells roasted malty. Thinnish but creamy mouth feel with just a bit of carbonation. Taste is very oaty and chocolatey. Intense at first. A bit sweet with a tiny alcohol finish.
