Pours thick and dark, good head and good lacing. Excellent Stout, sweet strong roast. Some chocolate, some slighter coffee, tastes concentrated. Most excellent proud bold flavor. A great Imperial stout.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2016 On tap, tulip glass. Aroma of fresh clean grain. Black as night, perfect. Coffee color when glass tilted toward light. Taste of a medium roast coffee using double the grounds. A little sweet on back end. Hearty palate, mouthful even when sipping. Great carbonation. Good beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Jet black pour, nothing more than a ring of tan fuzz, no real head. Nose is espresso and mild coco. Bittersweet. Middle is coffee grounds, dark malt, chalky chocolate. Finish is bitter, a little boozy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice looking brown black with a tan head. It's chocolate and coffee but not a ton. Very mild and boring, but the alcohol is well hidden.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Hyatt Regency Austin. Dark pour, thin head. Aroma was chocolatey. The flavor was carbonated roast. Not a lot of sweetness or other flavor. Kind of bland...and slightly overcarbonated. Had a bitter finish. It wasn’t great. I never would have guessed it was "imperial" anything.

Bottle from Bearded Monk on the way up to WF. Very dark brown color with a big brown head that lasts forever. Aroma is dark malt and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is roasted malt with a hint of minerals and the oatmeal gives it a fuller mouthfeel. A little coffee bitterness in the dry, lingering finish. Pleasant.

On tap at Zax. Short lived creamy head, but leaves curtains of lacing. Ruby tinged body, biting roast grains in both aroma and taste. Lingering dark chocolate on the palate. Comes off mild, but this is pretty big.

12oz bottle from sudsmcduff! Pours pretty much black with a small creamy dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate and black malts, burnt brownies, and hints of vanilla. Taste of coffee grounds, burnt chocolate, earth, and a hint of burnt sugar sweetness in the finish.
