Bottle… October ‘09 O-Town Throwdown!… Cloudy golden ale with a small, transparent head. The aroma is straight-up caramel and toffee malts. Full-bodied and sticky with modest carbonation. The flavor consists of sweet, malty toffee and butterscotch. Finishes much the same, but at no point do the sweet malts become cloying. Thanks go out to daknole for providing the bottle!

Jan 3, 2010 2006 vintage bomber pours out clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma is pretty fruity with raisins, prunes and dates along with a mild sweet malt note, some boozy heat, cherry hard candy and an echo of chocolate malts. The taste starts with smooth slick sweet malts very quickly running into a robust level of dark fruitiness from prunes, raisins, red wine and figs. The dark fruitiness rolls over into the finish revealing notes of sweet malts, molasses, brown sugar and a sense of caramel candy. This ’06 still hasn’t hit its peak. Good stuff.

Nov 28, 2009 2008 Bottle from Gummy, the cops are always beatin’ up on him: Pours with a gorgeous picturesque head of pure density defined orange-raped tan over a body of bronze stained orange haze. The nose smells of mature, alcohol injected apricots, reduced orange marmalade, and orange flavored pixie sticks. Flavors have waves of metallic apricot and orange, sticky hop crystals, drizzles of vanilla, fruit flavored hard candy and an electric blanket of alcoholic warmth draped over them. Body, though sweet seems only medium bodied..but the fruity maturity of the malts, the refined touch of vanilla and the still adequate crystalline-like presence of the hops makes the experience come together, right now, over me.

Oct 18, 2009 Courtesy daknole. Copper, off white head. Nice balance of earthy, herbal and malt syrup sweet. Some toasty caramel elements as well. Medium/full body, smooth. Decent.

Oct 17, 2009 An almost flat pour. Amber colored body. Funky offputting nose, cardboardy vegetal notes. Body?? Astringent oxydized flavors, faint fruitiness. Not worth going on about. Did,nt age well i guess?? Thanks Alan!

Oct 17, 2009 Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this. This beer is very strange. Comes across as an oily IPA, but is apparently imbued with what is undeniably treacle. The oiliness is a new dimension to me. This is definitely an American interpretation of the style, not what I would consider in the style, but good. Unique and worthy of drinking, but not what you’re looking for if you want a good, traditional old ale.

Sep 19, 2009 Warm mouthfeel like liquor. I know it’s 9.3%, but I’ve had stronger beers that don’t produce that kind of feel. Cloudy orange pour with a strong alcohol aroma. Hints of sweetness in the smell too. For the first time I can actually taste when they use the term "biscuit" in a beer. Different.
