3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at Opal Divine’s Freehouse, Austin, Oct. 18. Pours a cloudy gold with an average size diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of hops, quite catty, piney & resiny as well, backed by caramel malt. Flavour is all hops, piney, catty, resiny -- I love it, it’s all about the hops. Big, long bitter finish. Medium bodied. A great start to my Austin trip and a great IPA.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tropical and citrus hop aroma. Tastes a bit sweet, but if this is 8% then that’s totally understandable. This beer has come a long way.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is one excellent IPA and it’s from Texas. The mix of hops give it a crazy mix of flavors and aromas and since it’s local, the hops flavor is fresh which gives it extra goodness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at Flying Saucer in Austin. This brew pours a clear dark golden color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of hops, citrus and malt. Medium-bodied with a grassy hops character and flavors of earthy malt and citrus. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy amber with a soapy off-white head. Aroma of pastries (yes, like a Danish), raisins, citrus, caramel, and resin. Taste is heavily fruity and malty sweet with a somewhat subdued bitterness. Medium bodied and a bit dry. Decent beer, but not a very good IPA.
