COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gårdsøl er en lys lager brygget på økologiske råstoff. Ølet passer godt til annen økologisk mat.

Editor’s note: All bottles purchased in 2009 was a Pilsner. In 2010 they changed the reciepe to a Münchner Helles, but kept the same name.

05.03.2010, 0,5l Bottle. Thanks to Sven Roger L! Brew number 909. Golden yellow colour with white head. Very hazy at the end of the bottle. Aroma is bitter and malty. There is a kind of "homebrew" taste to this beer, wich I like. Especially in the aftertaste. Nice pilsner.

Bottle, 50cl, from Fenaknoken, Oslo. BB March 2010 (batch 906). Slightly hazy, pale yellow colour. Fine two-finger head reducing to a thin lacing. Light aroma of hops and yeast and some sweetness. Hint of honey in the mouth. Watery mouthfeel, but a pleasant carbonation makes it refreshing. Very - perhaps overly - dry finish with some bitterness.

Pours a slightly hazy straw yellow with a frothy white head that stays. Aroma is fruity, apricots, grass, some yeast. Same notes return in the flavour, along with a crisp grassy and lemony finish. Fairly sweet. Soft carbonation, medium to thin body. Pretty good.

500 ml bottle - thanks clint for another Norwegian offering; #9 - where’s the jerkface goalie to make this official? straw gold with foamy white head; corn and lemony wheat on the nose w/ some lactic sweetness; light texture with raw grain, wheat and grassy lemons; sweet, soft and a pretty decent pils IMO

500ml from Scrizz dog. Apple and cooked vegital nose. Some saaz hops and grass hitting me also. Light body with decent carbonation but I am getting cooked green apples.

500 ml bottle, bought at Fenaknoken, Oslo. Brew #909, ABV is 4.5%. Organic, unfiltered and unpasteurised "kellerbier". Hazy pale golden colour, big and lasting white head. The aroma has a pleasant mix of fruit, malts, toffee and butterscotch, hints of honey and resin too. The flavour has first a tolerable balance between the malts and hops, but also some coarse "traditional homebrew" notes, which I am not entirely happy about in such a delicate beer style. Some resin in the finish, unpleasant hints of metal and cardboard.

500ml bottle, brygg 909, fresh arrival at Fenaknoken, Oslo. Late straw coloured content with a slight haze. Fading, white head leaving nice laceworks behind. Dry leafy hops to the nose. Late fruits, oily hops and hints of lactose in flavour. Dry, bittersweet ending. Medium bodied. Rather nice and clean mouthfeel (hotel room, 19.08.2009).

From bottle@KnutAlbert’s. Coarse, big-bubbled white head. Unclear, straw-golden body. Aroma of fruit esters and dry malts. Doughy malt flavor, medium sweet, with some earthy, quite stale hops to balance. Medium body strenght. Low carbonation level. Short, slightly bitter ending. Not a favorite, lacks the freshness.
